A Train Ride Away

''What do you mean what am I ?! I'm human just like you!'' I screamed pulling myself up from the floor. Now I don't like fights, but this Edward guy was really starting to get on my nerves. Here he is safe and not getting trampled by the biggest and stickiest men of Amestris and that's only because I got him and his brother out of there before they could! Then he starts making assumptions that I'm not human. I mean maybe the being able to make portals deal isn't exactly something human ,but none the less I'm still human!

''What are you some kind of homunculus ? A chimera?! What are you!'' Edward shouted back as he stood in a fighting stance , he grabbed at his arm and with the swish of his arm the metal was turned into a dagger for defense. I was beginning to speak before he lunged in my direction and almost caught me off guard sending me into response as I ended up doing a flip to get out of his way while his brother Alphonse screamed to make the both of us stop. That did nothing. Me and Edward ended up in a sort of duel that had both of us pinning and dodging eachother. I couldn't tell what had over come me but I was having it with him and couldn't stand being blatantly accused! ''Your crazy!'' I growled as Edward made an attempt to push me against the wall instead I took the chance to flip over him and kick him to the floor making him lose his balance a second causing me to believe a false victory when he kneeled over bowing his head. I took a deep breath shaking my head, ''I'm not some damn monster you got that!?'' I should have expected what was coming next because that's the thing most people do when they think about their actions, but I was so angry that I overlooked the details. I was ready to lend my hand out to help Edward stand up , ''Miss d-'' Alphonse tried to warn me , but before he could I watched Edward take my hand and pull it forward to pull himself forward and pin me down, the sharp piece of his dagger slashing across my cheek and arm causing blood to cascade from the gashes. ''I'm human!'' I growled feeling the sting of the cuts as Edward stared in awe for a second before pulling himself off of me and standing up. ''Then how did you -''

''Look I don't know! I just know that I can somehow do transmutations that are nearly impossible and I -don't know why! And your welcome for saving both of your asses a second time!'' I felt some of the blood drip from my cheek as I reached up to wipe it away.

''Here use this..'' Alphonse said with a sigh to his words as he handed me a piece of clothe from somewhere. I took it kindly shaking my head as I thanked him. Edward transformed his arm back into his metal hand instead. ''I'm really sorry, me and my older brother Edward have been through a lot. He was just worried because we didn't know whether or not to trust you.'' Al apologized as I stood up from where me and Edward were on the ground just seconds ago. He was right I should have been more rational about their situation but it was no excuse for Edward to go straight for me. I huffed to myself looking at the two of them and then the ceiling of the empty train car. '' Maybe I'm just over reacting, things have just been weird since I opened that portal and it's all mixing up together. I just hope those soldiers don't try to follow you two, I was going to stay with you two until I knew they didn't follow you home.'' The both of them gave me an estranged stare as I was something they had never seen before. I could feel the pressure from their stares weigh down on me as I shook my head. ''I'm not doing it to be weird or anything I -I just-ugh I know we hardly know eachother but I wanted to make sure you were okay alright?!'' I sat down in the seat of the train before Edward and Alphonse joined me across the table on the other side. There was a pit of awkward silence before Edward spoke up clearing his throat.

'' What exactly were those men chasing you for earlier anyway ,how does it involve us ?''

''I don't know all the details exactly, but I overheard my father and the further talking about something and they mentioned that they were sending someone to kill the two of you.'' I paused before looking out the window of the train. ''They were talking about someone else, another homunculus I'm assuming, he got free of his'' hell'' because I opened that portal for the two for you.''

''Did they say any names?!'' Edward asked quite interested as Alphonse shook his head. ''I thought they were all gone before we left through the portal Ed?-

''Kaylie what names did they say?! We need to know!''

''They said Envy, something about Envy getting free , is he someone you know?''

''Damnit he got out and now he's going to cause problems too! What the hell are we going to do now?'' Edward pondered as he brushed his hand against his forehead in worry. Watching them stress out made me stress out, this situation was way more than I had anticipated or read in any newspapers about them. Not to mention my father was somehow involved in the plans of their demise, how could he be? He would have never thought the idea of killing someone, let alone someone who was still just a teenager... Everything just wasn't adding up. I could feel this shaking inside that something was wrong somewhere I just wasn't sure where.

For the next two hours we spent on the train, Edward and Alphonse would tell me about how the whole homunculus situation got started. From their creation, to how they had to fight against them so Amestris wouldn't succumb to their control. Then they went over how the two of them were on the mission to get their bodies back, Alphonse regained his full body and soul but Edward had been left with a metal arm before they were sent through the portal into a different time. The last person the two of them had seen from any life they had before the portal was Envy, the homunculus who fought with Edward before the portal closed. That had come to a stop when we felt the train stop. Edward and Alphonse stood up from their seats and looked outside the window in slight relief. ''At least we can stay in Resombool for a few days. Come on Al we can introduce Kaylie to Winry and Gran.'' Edward spoke as he started off the train. ''Right brother, but I think you should remember her names Kiomi not Kaylie..'' Alphonse sighed shaking his head grabbing his bag. ''I promise my brother really is a good person.'' Alphonse apologized as I shook my head. ''It's fine.. you don't have apologize for him.'' I tried to make a small laugh but it came so nervously as I followed behind Al on the train. The train depot was small and simple, Resombool was a quant little town that had lots of country side. I didn't grow up around much of the country side. It was so calm and peaceful it seemed untouchable by any one compared to Amestris. I was so distracted by the calmness of the walk and the silence I didn't even notice that within a twenty minute walk from intown we had arrived about a hundred feet from a house. A legible sign stood outside the house that read ''Auto Mail''. So they were mechanics? I was about to take a step forward before I was stopped by someone's hand. I looked up from my curious gaze and noticed it was Al who stopped me. ''You might wanna stand back a little.'' he instructed which made me confused as I began to speak ''Why-

''Hey Winry were finally home! I have a nice big auto mail hand for you to fix !'' Edward suddenly shouted getting about ten feet away from the door as me and Alphonse stood back. It took a moment for any response so I turned towards Al in question before he motioned to duck. I was even more confused by this before I watched the door to the house fly open to reveal an angry looking ,tall blonde girl who yielded something in her hands.

''Your gone for three years and you greet me by asking to fix your damn auto mail?! WHAT THE HELL EDWARD!'' the blonde girl, who I am now guessing to be Winry, then threw her arm chucking what ever object she had armed towards Edwards head. Edward dodged it easily as if he had done so many times before. The object , which happened to be a wrench, flew just past me and Alphonse's heads before it fell from midair. ''Hah you missed! Ahahaha-'' Winry, chucked another weapon from her pocket and it smacked Edward right in his forehead causing him to fall. ''We can move now.'' Alphonse spoke as he walked towards Edwards body as he lay on the floor in a daze. I followed Al not choosing to end up in the same fate as Edward had. Winry came down and greeted us by where she had knocked Edward down. ''Al it's so nice to see you back home!'' she quickly hugged Alphonse . As the two of them hugged Edward got up grumbling and rubbing his head with a sour expression. ''Oh yes I'm just fine! Thank you Winry!'' he sneered at her as Winry turned from hers and Al's hug . ''You deserved that!''

''No I didn't!''

''Yes you did you idiot!''

''No I di-''

''Guys can you save the arguing for later I don't think Kiomi will be comfortable with it exactly..'' Alphonse broke in causing the two of them to share a glance before choosing to behave.

''Anyways, Winry we'd like to introduce you too Kiomi , she's the one that helped bring us back home.'' Alphonse introduced before Winry smiled and held out her hand to me , ''Nice to meet you I'm Winry Rockbell ,Edwards mechanic!''
