Y/n yawned, stretching a bit. Her arms and legs were bruised from sword hits and she was sore from training. She did it everyday now, which tired her out.
Her sleeping patterns had also gotten weirder. She slept less due to nightmares she couldn't make sense of, so she stayed awake most of the night listening to Steven's soft snores. Her lack of sleep had increased when she had realized Pearl was watching Steven. She pretended to sleep, but her fear of nightmares kept her awake.
Y/n rose out of bed, putting on casual clothes and walking downstairs tiredly. Steven was already up and eating breakfast. Y/n sat down next to him and placed her head in her arms.
It wasn't long before she felt someone poking her side. She looked up wearily to see Steven looking concerned down to her.
"Oh, good morning Steven." Y/n smiled before nodding off, but Steven poked her again.
"Y/n! Don't you remember you promised to hang out with me today?" Steven smiled childishly.
Y/n mentally cursed herself but looked to Steven with a smile grin. "Heh, yeah. Never forgot."
Steven smiled, eating some more of his breakfast before tossing the fish in the sink. Y/n barely ate, but Steven didn't seem to take much notice.
Y/n waited outside of the bathroom for Steven, texting her new friend. Steven came out of the bathroom and flipped back his hair.
"I'm ready!" He smiled excitedly.
Y/n shut her phone and blinked tiredly, "Okay."
Their main plan was to look for people they could hang out with, or bother. Steven and Y/n would split up and then talk about the people the met.
Y/n split from Steven, walking drowsily down the boardwalk, when she hit something. Whatever she hit jumped and slightly pushed her back.
"Oh Y/n, it's just you." Sour Cream sighed. "It's been forever, where'd you go?"
Y/n blinked, processing what he said before yawning. "I went to live with the gems because I started showing signs of magic."
"Like your hair?" Sour Cream pointed to her hair, which it's tops had slowly turned pink and curled upwards.
"Apparently." Y/n took a lock of hair and played with it. "Anyways, I'm searching for people to meet, like friends. Have any suggestions?"
Sour Cream shrugged, putting earbuds into his ears. "Jenny is a good start. Fish Stew pizza."
Y/n nodded before walking off. She'd heard of Jenny, but never met her. Sour Cream liked to talk about what they did during the day, but mostly they just hung out.
Y/n walked into Fish Stew Pizza and a girl around Sour Cream's age was at the counter. Y/n stood on her tip toes, but the dark rings around her eyes made it hard to look cute.
"Hello Miss.. are you Jenny?"
The girl at the counters eye's widened when she saw Y/n, but then chuckled.
"Heh, no. That's my sister. She outta be somewhere with Buck and Sour Cream by now." She then looked to Y/n. "I'm Kiki, want anything to eat or were you just coming for my sis?"
Y/n didn't want to be rude, so she bought a pizza to go. She stopped by the temple, which was empty at the moment, and put the pizza on the bar. She then set out to find more friends.
Y/n walked into a rather unknown part of beach city. There was a neighborhood that looked fairly old but nothing more. When she did see a person, it was just an old lady. Y/n smiled politely before setting off once again.
