~Sera~~One Month Later~
Mahdi was finally better. We had come back to Miromara a few weeks ago, and he was finishing his recovery here. It broke my heart to see him in pain, but at least he was getting better.
I too haven't been feeling very well either, but again, I was getting better ever so slightly. This morning seemed to be worse though. As I was getting up to get ready for the day the room began to spin. This has been normal for me for the past week or so. It quickly passes, and I get up to get ready for the day.
Mahdi was still asleep in bed, so I just let him sleep. Deciding against breakfast I go right to my office and begin to work.
It has been one month since we've even heard of Lucia's whereabouts. We found all of her bases, and she wasn't in a single one. All stripped of everything, emptied, and everyone was gone. No trace of them or anything. They had completely vanished once again.
Everyday I grow more and more frustrated that we can't find them. They need to be stopped. If they aren't who knows what will happen?
I stare absentmindedly at my work for the longest time. No solutions to any of these problems have come. A few riots have broken out. People were getting anxious. They wanted Lucia found, and fast.
My brother bursts through the door. "Well I did it," he says.
I look up at him. "Did what?" I ask.
"I proposed to Astrid last night."
I gasp. "You did!"
"Yes."
"It's about time. I'm so happy for both of you. What was she like?"
"She had known about it. Lucia had told her when she was captured. It was all a matter of how I was going to ask her. She was very happy that I asked though."
"Well that's good then. I'm so excited for you two. Now I hope we'll actually be able to have the wedding."
"Why is that?"
I sigh. "Riots in both here and Matali have started to break out. It isn't long before they start to attack the palaces. I've talked with the Duca. Nothing from above water is causing them, so it has to be Lucia that's causing them."
"I'll keep security tight. If we find anything on Lucia we'll report it immediately."
I give Des a small smile. "Thank you."
"Anytime. Do you think that all of this could be a demand for an heir?"
That was a very random comment, but I responded nonetheless. "I hope not. Mahdi and I have been married about two months. We're nowhere ready to have a child yet."
"What now?" It was a new voice. I look around Des to see Mahdi.
"Mahdi," I say.
"Hey. What are you doing in here so early Sera?"
"I wanted to get some work done. There's too much to do today."
I watched as Des quietly left the room leaving just Mahdi and I. "What's going on that has you with so much work?"
"Riots. In Matali, and in Miromara. It's Lucia I just know it."
"We really need to find her."
"Yes we do."
There was a moment of silence. "I'll have my men scouting around Matali. Making sure that no one that shouldn't be there is there."
"Thank you."
"Anytime. Just please remember to eat. I know how you get when you're stressed."
I playfully roll my eyes at him. "Don't worry. I'll come and eat. If not send lunch to me."
He smiles. "I love you."
"I love you too."
After a quick kiss on my head, Mahdi leaves the room. Leaving just me and my work.
