Chapter 22

~Lucia~

She had two children. Now I wait for the third. I gather all the information I can from the other mer is Miromara and my spies in Matali. Two sons; an emperor and an extra. Their names have eluded me, but they are here nonetheless. Now I wait for what I can only assume to be their daughter.

I have spun various plans for the two royals. Kill the daughter or don't. Kill the sons or don't. With a knock at the door of the shelter do I know the answer is close.

"A mermaid is here-,"

"Send her in," I cut him off. I know who it is without looking.

Sure enough she swims in. "There is news I assume. I never leave my shipwreck but this is vital."

"I know. I would expect nothing less from you."

She gives a huff and swims to be in front of me. "Our time table has shifted. Our time is nearer. Serafina's unexpected twins has turned our tables."

I look up at her and meet her gaze. "Do you know when her next child will be? I assume it will be her daughter, her heir."

"I do not. While shifted, the future is still fuzzy. There are many things that can go wrong. You must plan wisely."

With a sigh I turn my back and look at the map pinned to the wall. Marked on it is every location I know of that Serafina and Madhi could run to. My number one location: the palazzo.

"I believe I know where she will hide. The duca's palazzo. I have word that strange occurrences have been happening. We've kept our eye on it for quite sometime now."

The mermaid swims up next to me and also looks at the map. "Becca and the duca have been hiding there for some time. I too have caught wind of their plans. I am not sure of their intentions with the knowledge they seek."

I begin to ask her more when the door flies open. A soldier stands there waiting for me.

"What have I told you about interrupting me," I demand as I swim back to the desk.

"We have information on Serafina and Madhi. I think you'll want to hear this."
