Chapter 12\\Waiting and Surprises

Levi's POV

I was Frozen.

the ambulance had just rounded the corner of her street taking her away and Jessie was next to me, tears streaming down her face.

Me? i wasn't crying.. yet.

i don't know how long we stood there but she was the first to move again, getting my attention.

I turned to see her waiting by the passenger side of my car. silently i joined her and walked to the drivers side before unlocking it and heading to the hospital. 

I could see Jessie texting a few people as we drove. she must have noticed me looking at her phone between stops in traffic because she said "I'm letting the rest of our friends know to meet up at the hospital. Do you have anyone you want me to text for you. I pretty much have the whole years phone numbers in my contacts"

"Yeah... Text James for me"

"which one James basketball or James football?"

"James Kobe... Football" 

and then we didn't speak for the remainder of the car ride.

Once i had parked the car Jessie and i hurriedly walked onto the hospital.

"Were her to see Jayla Marshal, she was brought in not to long ago.." i could feel the lump in my throat forming from holding back the tears... please just let me last this conversation... 

"No worries. Can i get a name please?"

"Levi And Jessie. We're the ones who called 911"

"Ah no problem. Shes in surgery right now but take waiting room one on the second floor and we will be in touch to let you know any updates"

"Thank you mam. Oh, also there will also be a few more people about our age coming soon is there enough room for all 6 or so of us?"

"yeah there is plenty of room"

"Thank you"

Jessie and i quietly mad our way up to the assigned room. 

We were in for a long wait.

it had been nearly 2 hours since Jessie and i had arrived. everyone had shortly joined us - it was James and all of Jay's group.

All of us had tear stained cheeks and hadn't spoken a word... I Just hope we had gotten to her in time...

It was then that the door had opened and in came a nurse and a man i had never seen before but he definitely wasn't from the hospital. Once the nurse closed the door he turned around and i realized who he was, and i guess Jessie did too because she turned to me immediately with a panicked expression.

I quickly stood up and So did Jessie gaining everyone's attention. I then walked over to him sizing him up ready to beat him if i had to.

 "I know who you are and i can tell you right now your the last person she wants to see when she wakes up." i had so much hatred in my voice he looked taken back for a moment before replying with a saddened expression "I Know but i was already on my way because child services called me, when she is out of surgery i want her friends to be the first to see her. i just want to know if she is okay and please tell her that i'm not going to force her to move and live with me and that everything will be sorted and okay? I don't know if she will let me close enough to see her"
