Marceline 'Mercy' Sherow knows that better than anyone else. As the Butcher, she plies her trade in the heart of Old Bladvar's black market, harvesting organs and selling them to those who can afford her exorbitant fees. With her own heart deteriorating and given only a year to live, Mercy is all too aware of the irony of her predicament.
A chance encounter with a peculiar blue-haired woman, however, leads Mercy into a deadly contract from which there is no return. Bound to the demon, Ariadne in exchange for a new heart, Mercy now has to decide where her loyalties lie when she is forced to join a battle for supremacy in which there can only be one victor.
- Really, anything by them. It nails the dark atmosphere super well and Marceline is an interesting character that I was enamored with. And the description makes me melt. (DracoNako)
