Time slows down for a brief second when you brush pass Connor's shoulder. You wrap your arms around Ashton's neck, pressing your lips against his instead.

And for some reason, Connor's pump regulator starts to ache.

Connor doesn't understand why he feels...

Disappointed.

The next day, Hank is finally up and running to get right back to work. Unfortunately for Connor, he doesn't feel too well after what happened last night. He can still feel his chest having a tight knot on it, and he doesn't seem to know why.

"Connor, let's get going," Hank says, waving his hand in front of the android's face to gain his attention. Connor remains still, looking out blankly. Hank's expression is filled with concern, for he had never seen Connor act like this before. "Are you alright?" he asks, placing his hand on the brunet's shoulder.

Connor flinches, his vision clearing. He nods, "I'm fine, Lieutenant."

"Come on, we gotta get going," pesters Hank, gesturing Connor to follow him. After a few seconds, Connor obeys, following Hank with his hands clasped together behind him. He's processing things quite slowly now, and it's giving him a headache. All these glitches popping up out of nowhere... it confuses him.

His mind blanks out again, thinking about you.

Why is he thinking about you?

Unknowingly, Connor smiles to himself, thinking about the time back at the hospital. The warmth of your body pressed against his as you lay your head on his shoulder, resting peacefully. He didn't feel anything back then, so why now?

Maybe you'll be someone he'll care about a lot in the future.

There's a lump in his throat as a flashback of you and Ashton comes to mind.

The kiss.

"The hell are you doing?" Hank interrupts his thoughts, beginning to grow impatient. They're now at Hank's car, and Connor sees him about to get inside. "Get in. I'm starting to get annoyed with your zoning out."

"I apologize, Lieutenant." Connor says, opening the car door and getting inside. He shuts the door, turning his head to watch Hank start the engine. The android tilts his head to the side, wanting to ask Hank why he's been getting these glitches lately, but he doesn't. Connor can handle it on his own.

Hank begins driving, silence taking over them. He taps on the driving wheel with furrowed eyebrows. "So Connor," he begins the conversation. "You've been acting weird lately."

So he caught on.

"You are correct," replies the brunet, staring at Hank. "How did you know?"

"Ever since last night, you've been zoning out way too much, like you've got something on your mind. Is it Y/N?"

Connor suddenly tenses up at the mention of you. He wants to deny it. Why have you been occupying his mind so much?

"It is not about Y/N," he lies, looking out the window. "It's nothing, Hank."

Hank raises an eyebrow, still keeping his eye on the road. "You called me Hank." He points out, smirking a bit. "So you have been thinking about Y/N."

"An android child got shot in the head by its father, correct?" Connor changes the topic, bringing up the information about their investigation.

A/N: Brutal, I know. T_T
