Red diamond looked out at the almost never ending line of quartz soldiers marching past the palanquin. She rarely used it anymore, it was merely a method of miniature transportation whilst she was upon planets. After all, a gigantic, red hand isn't the most effective way to travel without destroying your colonies in the process. The dusty red planet she was currently on made her reminisce of vague places and blurry figures who had voices she could no longer recall. She was proud to call herself the only diamond who adjusted almost immediately to her responsibilities upon being created. She was proud, but she was also slightly remorseful. She never admitted it to anyone but it hurt her slightly to not be capable of even knowing her old name after all these years. 100 years into ruling, she reformed into her new current form; it neared no resemblance to who she used to be. As a matter of fact she couldn't even remember what she used to look like. But alas, none of that really mattered; for today way the day wherein which another planet was claimed. Earth. The title sounded familiar. Ironically to Red familiarity was an unfamiliar occurrence. Regardless it was her task today to return back to homeworld and discuss who shall claim the planet as the newest addition to their colony. However before it were to be claimed, several series of plans had to organised. Such as the analysis of any past information regarding the planet, future analysis, a comparison of the two, plotting of kindergardens and most importantly the inhalation of species that would interrupt the expansion of the diamond's reign. This was a task that could only be done with the assistance of three of the other diamonds. Lavender, Violet and Green. The thought of Violet brought a smile to her face. She was as cunning and ruthless as Red. Maybe even more. Over time and several reconditionings she had developed into a strong leader with slightly sadistic tendencies. She was quick to notice even the smallest signs of rebellion and only perfection was permitted within her presence. Anything other than that would result in the demise of a gem, regardless of ranking. The pearl at her side tapped her gently on her shoulder, drawing her attention back to the subject at hand. She had to report back as soon as possible. The final squadron of rubies passed, their uniform holding a bright purple diamond. Red frowned. It seemed familiar...

It seemed wrong.

"My pearl?"
Red pearl jumped, straightened her posture and stood to attention, "Yes my diamond?"
"When were those rubies requested?"
The pearl opened up a hologram, revealing a long list of formed and unformed gems.
"Exactly 100 years ago. The commissioner has since redacted the order but the peridots have not been informed of the alteration."
Red's brow furrowed. "And whose responsibility is it to inform the peridots?" She spat.
The pearl tapped quickly at the list, scrolling as fast as she could back to the top. "For this specific s-sector..." pearl said, "it was the agate you met a couple of minutes ago."
Red smiled a horrific, furious smile. Her face contorted into a form of pure hatred. Her teeth gritted and her palms got warm. "My pearl, it's time to leave." She stood up and walked over to the control panel, "in the meantime, could you complete a shattering request for me?"
Pearl's face went pale; "w-who for my diamond?"
She didn't respond. The air around them got tense, almost electric. Any wrong move and someone would lay in shards upon the floor. Pearl went to ask again. "Who for my-"
As soon as she spoke she felt a tight hand wrap itself around her throat. Smoke began to pour from the palm as Red's anger overflowed. The flames began to trickle onto Pearl's bare neck, causing tears to flood her eyes.
"Were you even paying attention?" Red yelled, her grip tightening itself as the seconds passed. Suddenly, the flames covered her hand; catching pearl and making her cry out in pain. Her form was weaker than a normal gem. Others would be able to keep their form whilst this pain was inflicted upon them. However pearls were constructed differently. Her form began to melt upon contact with the heat, her body couldn't handle it. Neither could her gem. A deep crack suddenly echoed throughout the palanquin. It was like a bulb going out. Red came to a halt. Scattered across the floor were small grains of her former pearl. How could she not let the others know?

Lavender diamond sat comfortably at the table. The others were yet to arrive. They were busy with organising their colonies. She couldn't help but feel envious. She was regarded as the best diamond, the one closest to perfection, yet the only planet she had to her name was homeworld. The "wonderful" shrieks of her dainty pearl was starting to give her a headache. She would complain about this defection in her pearl, but the thought of someone being shattered caused her to sob. It brought forward a long repressed guilt, a memory that was flushed out many years ago. It could have something to do with homeworld's sudden hatred of a purple symbol that used to label several dozen now destroyed gems, but Lavender thought that was merely a coincidence; they were hers that formed incorrectly. Well, that's what white diamond had told her. The hum of the warp pad filled the room, accompanied by the cold blue light. It stopped as abruptly as it began but a new presence had arrived. Lavender pearl stopped singing and addressed Lavender. "My diamond..." she whispered.
"Yes?"
"I present green diamond." She bowed and gestures towards the now-seated gem. Green had been Lavender's right hand gem ever since they both formed together. She always knew how to comfort Lavender whenever she had terrible fantasies. They were mainly about life on a strange planet; she wasn't a diamond and she'd been kidnapped by people whose faces were merely a blur. Other times she'd remember someone else. A girl with a gem very similar to Green's. However, hers was defective. Something horrible happened to her. There was dark liquids and funny shaped flesh laying around her gem. Other than that she couldn't remember much. However, that wasn't important now. What mattered was who'd claim the newest planet...

Earth.
