Chapter 1
Prim and her Father Peeta were walking back home holding hands. Prim usually talked about how school went but today was different. She stayed quiet and looked like she wanted to hurry home. Her father asked her if she was okay but the same answer he got was"Hurry!". When they finally got home Prim went to hug her Mother Katniss And told her she had something important to tell say. When Peeta and Katniss finally went to the living room and sat down. Prim stood up infront of them for awhile she stood there silently. Finally Katniss broke the silence " Prim..Is something you wanted to tell us?". Prim started to speak "Oh right well, Mommy today at school a couple of solders came to my school to talk about some war and something called the...hunger games? And one solider keep looking at me weirdly so i went to ask him why he was staring at me and he said his name was G..gale? Yeah Gale Hawthrorne. He said i looked like a girl he knew...So i just wanted to ask if you knew him." Katniss sat there staring at her daughter speechless. Peeta finally broke the silence and stood up" Honey...Leave me and your mother to talk okay? Can you go feed your little brother Rye for me?" Prim nodded and left. While Katniss sat there...Silently...Not moving even an inch. She wasn't crying...She just stared at the floor like if she has seen a ghost."Katniss..." Peeta sat back down and held her hand."Katniss...The kids..the kids were going to find out anyway..Its normal for the kids to start wondering but if you dont feel comfortable about the kids talking about it then ill tell prim that you just feel dont comforable talking about it..."He held her hand tighter. "Im going to protect you and the kids..I promise." Katniss hugged peeta and started to cry. "Peeta...." Peeta looked at Katniss and asked "Yes Dear?"
"I love you." Katniss whispered to him.
