I was holding back the tears all day. But when I finally got home, I bawled in my mum's arms. My salty tears soaked her shirt, and my leaking nose stained the purple fabric.
"Honey, what's wrong? Did they make fun of you?" she asked.
"Yeah," I sobbed, "I fell down the stairs, and my leg was exposed and people took pictures of it. Then Abby called me a freak."
My mum then broke the hug. She marched over to the home phone, dialing a number.
"Is this principal William's? Hi, my name is Jessica Steele, Ginger Steele's mother. I would like to report an incident."
A few moments of silence passed before she spoke again.
"Yes, uh huh, ok. Thank you, see you tomorrow." She then hung up and took a deep breath.
"What happened?" I asked, wiping tears away.
"All the kids that posted the photo will be suspended for a few days. Tomorrow, Abby and her parents will meet up with us and the principal to figure out disciplinary measures."
My heart dropped when I heard those words. I'm not mentally ready to face Abby. Although she is getting what she deserves, mooching off me all these years.
I ran up to my room, leaving my mum in the living room. Flopping on my bed, I took a deep breath.
I can't handle change, I thought.
