My whole body shakes as I heave the rest of my breakfast onto the dirt. Warm, gentle hands rub slow circles on my back, my mind spins out of control. My parents still alive, other worlds, werewolves, I don't know what a mate is but whenever Adrian says it, a small shiver of desire creeps through me.
Honey, its okay I'm here, your safe. Oh yeah, and the hot boy talks to me in my mind.
I'm sorry Lyssandra but we have to go now. I look into Adrian's emerald green eyes, the thoughts in my head go blissfully silent and an unquenchable trust blooms in my heart. Silently I berate myself for these feelings but I can't deny the way he makes me feel.
I stand on shaky legs as Adrian lifts Will into his arms, Will whimpers softly and
once again guilt twists shards into my stomach. If it wasn't for me Will would be laughing right now, not squirming in pain.

We walk for what feels like an eternity, the scratches on my arms start to bleed again but I refuse to worry Adrian, so I tug my shirt over them and stumble onwards. A dull headache thuds against my skull and my limbs feel like lead, my vision seems to be darkening and I panic until I realise that night has fallen.
"Adrian," I croak, "its night already." Her turns back to me in alarm.
Lyssandra! "Your bleeding! Why didn't you tell me?"
The world spins as I sway on my feet. I shiver as my body goes from hot to cold. I sink to the ground, leaning my back against the rough bark of a tree. Pain burns through my veins and I choke back sobs.
"Shit!!! Lyssandra, I'm coming back. Don't worry I'm coming back. Shhhhhh I won't be gone long, its OK................"
Adrian's voice fades off and I curl into a ball on my side, whimpering.
***
Hours. Seconds. Days. Time slows down and speeds up with no warning. Hanging on to consciousness by a thread, I feel cool hands soothing my feverish skin.
"........... unstable heart beat .................... poison ........tipped his claws ........ Lyssandra please hang o............ shh its ok................. rift........."
Adrian.
Lyssandra!!!
Everything goes black.
***
I wake to the sound of harmonious snores, cracking an eye open, I see Will and Adrian crashed out on adjacent beds. I smile as the blackness overtakes me once again.
