The sun rose through the clouds on another bright blue day in Resembol. The sunlight hit the curtains of Winry's bedroom, beaming light into the room causing her to wake up. "Okay, okay, I'm up." she said to herself in her chair. She had yet another long night working on the newest edition to her collection. The new metal she'd requested had come a few days ago and she wanted to try it out. Hours became days since the metal arrived. She tested what kind of damage it could handle and thought of who'd be the first she'd try it out on. 'Ed of course.' She thought deviously. 'He'll be home today. ' She remembered as she stretched. "If his letter was correct. " She muttered angrily. Then she smiled thinking of how the odd way he had suddenly "proposed" the way he did last time they'd seen each other. He had said in the letter he needed a check up on his leg again, but that he'd be home for awhile this time to spend some time with her. She remembered back to the day she first got the letter in the mail.
Dear Winry,
Yes, I'm alive and well. Of course, you should know that by now. I've sent this letter....

She stopped and giggled at that.
Anyway, I'll be home soon. I should be arriving in a few days now. I'll be expecting some apple pie waiting for me. I miss you.
-Edward
P.S. I'm seriously hoping for that pie...

Winry frowned and started to crumple up the letter and tossed it into the trash bin near her desk. "He's got some nerve!" Winry growled at the memory.

It was two days since the letter arrived and Winry figured he'd be coming home today.

Winry decided it was time to make herself look at least presentable for her new fiancée once he returned. She grabbed a towel from the clean laundry and headed back upstairs for a change of nice clean clothes. Once she found a suitable pair of Jeans she picked a lovely pink pastel blouse with a V-neck and frilly short sleeves. On her way to the shower she glanced at herself in the mirror. She was really dirty. Had she gotten so dirty before? It was always after she got something new to work with in the shop. She touched her cheek where a huge smudge of oil lay plastered on as if someone took a big paintbrush to her face. She sighed about how careless she could be with her work. Winry slipped her green bandana off of her head and then started to shimmy out of her jump suit.

She flipped her long blonde hair out of the way as she removed her light blue bra and panties and began to pull her hair back up into a huge sloppy bun for her bath.

She turned the knob to hot and waited as the water started to fill the big tub. While the water ran she went to the cabinets to find some bubble bath soap to lather up in while she relaxed. She eventually found the Bubble Gum scented soap she was content with. She started to pour the soap right near the running water to start the bubbles early and decided to slip in while the tub continued to fill. Winry laid back against the small head rest in the tub and waited for the bubbles to surround her.

About five minutes later, the tub was completely filled to Winry's liking so she turned the knob again to stop the water. She sighed and laid back to relax in the tub full of bubble gum scented soap and warm heat to soothe her aching muscles.

Winry hadn't intended to fall asleep in the tub, but her lack of sleep took over from the all nighter.

Little did she know Edward had just returned home. "Winry? Im back." He set down his luggage beside the back of the couch and took off his long coat and hung it on the rack then roamed around as he usually did. He went into the kitchen first sniffing and looking around. No apple pie. No sweet smell whatsoever. 'Damn.' He cursed. His hopes finally had given up. "Granny?" He called. No answer. 'Was she out again?' He went to the stairs and stopped in his tracks. He listened quietly. 'What if something bad happened to Winry?!' He thought frightened. He dashed quickly right up the stairs and headed straight to Winry's bedroom and immediately opened the door. "Winry?!" He exclaimed. 'Where the hell is that woman?' He fell across her bed in defeat. Utterly broken in the absence of Winry. He heaved a great sigh on her bed and inhaled again. 'Her sheets smell so nice.' He thought to himself laying there for minute. Then it finally clicked. 'She's in the bath!' He quickly assumed.
