Saturday, September 15, 2013, Day 1

OK, so it's 6:30 in the evening and we are walking down a bunch of corridors, with a stranger leading the way to who-knows-where. Can I just say, WHAT THE HELL? Am I the only one who's not ok with this? I'm still super suspicious about all of this. I mean, come on, I'm the blonde one here, and I'm the only one who's thinking in their right mind? The only reason I haven't said anything to Sky or the others is because (I can't believe I'm going to say this..) I'm not entirely sure that I can trust them right now. Now I don't know if that's S.I.N.'s plan, but I know what I know, and that's absolutely nothing. Therefore I need to be careful with every little move I make. While Sky was in the shower, I scanned our room for bugs (the technical kind) and for hidden cameras. I didn't find any but I also couldn't check every single inch while she took a shower. I only had 15 minutes.

So anyway, Miss Jamie was supposedly leading us to "where we would spend most of our days", the Training Room. I guess that because the only one who has somewhat discovered their type of power is Savana (who still hasn't told us anything about it), the trainers are just gonna teach us hand to hand combat. Like martial arts or something. For defensive purposes.

Our combat instructor's name is Mark and he is 25 years old, and pretty damn hot if I do say so myself. Yeah, I know I'm only 15 and he's 10 years older than me, but still. Damn. "Okay Ladies, you are going to have 2 different types of training: Ninja training, which includes combat, intelligence, survival skills, agility, patience and charm; and element/power/ability training, which is first discovering your main type of element. After you figure that out then you can train for what you can do then, and after you master that we can focus on finding your branching abilities. And so forth," Miss Jamie told us. She gave Mark an 'okay go ahead' look. He nodded and looked at us and explained the course to us, as Miss Jamie left.

He had us stand in a circle and explained that at the beginning of every new lesson he would have us do this, and he would be alternating between us all so each of us could get some experience on what he was teaching and demonstrating to us. "Today's lesson will be all about defense. You must learn to defend yourself before you can learn to fight. Does anyone know why that is?" Scarlet's flew up. That shocked us all because she never raises her hand. She usually just blurts stuff out, and it's usually a bunch of bull shiz. Mark pointed at her and nodded, giving her permission to speak. "We can't fight if we leave our defenses open because it gives our opponent the opportunity to strike while we leave ourselves vulnerable". Every one of the mouths in our group dropped. Even Savana's. "Very good Scarlet, that is correct. If you are vulnerable to an attack, you will fail at attacking your opponent. You need to defend while striking. And you will learn how to use your opponent's strength against them." It sounded legitimate enough. That actually got me excited because I used to take karate when I was like 5 years old. I stopped going because I got interested in soccer more.

He taught us to pay attention to what arm they are using to attack, and pay attention to how much force they are putting behind it. He said that this also strategic. Because you have to pay attention to what moves they use the most, and how well they do at using it. That is one way you can figure out their strengths and weaknesses. And after you figure those out, you can plan your own method of attack. By the time we all got the hang of what we were doing, we definitely felt like ninjas in training. I think Scarlet was the best at it. I mean she is the strongest, with Savana in second. Casey and Jas were the last ones to get the hang of it. They are the smallest, youngest and most innocent, so that meant that they were pretty bad starters, and they didn't want to hurt each other. We were paired with the best opponent for us. They were (no surprise) the same pairs as our rooms. "I'm surprised that you all got it on your first day of training! Just remember that you are still extreme beginners and you've only learned to defend yourselves. You still have so much to learn... in everything." Mark chuckled after saying that. It was now 10:45 at night. We were in there for 4 hours! Holy shiz, that was awesome! Miss Jamie was there and watched the last 15 minutes of training. I guessed that as soon as we bowed to our Sensai, it was time for Miss Jamie to return us to our chambers.
