His skin, pale as snow. His fangs, sharp as a sword. His name was Alexander. Alexander was in high school, as everyone else in the room is. I watched him, his movements, his facial expression. He was so odd, yet I couldn't place my finger on why. He always wore semi-dark clothing, long sleeves and jeans. His black hair covering his face. I couldn't even see his eyes. I guess he about 5'9'', maybe 6'. But I don't know... I'm only 5'3".
I was one of the shortest in there actually. He was about average height out of us all. He isn't very social either, he always 'laid low' and tried his best not to talk to anyone. Of course, there was one time I tried, but it didn't go so well.
...
"Avery? Avery? Earth to Avery!" a girl waved her hand in my face. I snapped out of my trance and looked at her.
"Sorry, Jaiden...," I responded to her, looking down at my feet, then back to her. Her smooth, brown skin was framed nicely by her curly brown hair. Her eyes were so dark a shade of brown they almost looked black. She was wearing mascara and a little foundation and powder. She looked straight into my hazel eyes.
"Were you staring at him again?" Jaiden questioned me sternly. "You know he's bad news."
"I know...but he's so...he's such an outcast that it intrigues me," I glanced back over to find that he wasn't there anymore. Jaiden turned me back to her attention and gave me a soft smile that quickly turned into a stern expression.
"Vampires like him are outcasts," Jaiden told me flatly
"What do you mean?" I ran my fingers in my long, brown hair, pondering what she would answer with.
"Vampires like him were kicked out of our clans." I stopped fiddling with my hair and looked at her confused, she knew what I was going to ask. "They were kicked out for various reasons."
I rolled my eyes and then laughed a little. There is no way he could be an 'outcast'. He would be in a much worse condition... right?
Just as I went to ask Jaiden how she could tell he was an outcast, I heard our teacher open the door to our classroom, we all sat down immediately. Jaiden and I took our seats together at the front of the classroom.
"Good morning, class!" the man, maybe in his forties, said heartily to all of us. "Today you have your final exams! Please put all of your belongings away and place all electronics on the table."
He sat down at his desk, pulling out a piece of paper from the backpack he carried around school. He was that one teacher that was always trying to keep up with the new 'cool' for kids. He was pretty good at it too, seeing that all the rest of the teachers just gave us papers and said 'do your work'.
After a few moments of him digging around in his backpack, he stood up from his desk and walked over to Jaiden and I.
"May you pass these out for me?" he shot us both a warm smile. I looked at Jaiden and she nodded her head, and so did I. "Thank you, ladies."
He handed us each a stack of papers. I stood up and started to pass out papers.
...
After a few minutes, I had handed out all but one of the papers. I scanned the room until I saw one desk without a paper.
