Alfred walked into the study with a smile when he saw books off the shelf again. The chill in the room was still present, and a chair at the desk was pulled out. Slowly, as if the ghost was unsure, the book moved its pages. They glided as if a window was left open, but both he and the ghost knew there was no real effort to keep hidden.
"I'm headed off for summer vacation," Alfred said aloud.

He originally picked the mansion because he thought it was abandoned, but the thought of staying alone in it now... he didn't want to be left alone. "How long?" He asked. His voice was quieter than he predicted, yet it bounced off the walls with minimal effort. Alfred looked surprised. If he could see the ghosts face, they would have matched perfectly.
"Two weeks," Alfred answered softly.
