Prologue

Last seen on BlueWhiskers.

I kept on alert now. Also because I could no longer hear Uni. She must have been...dead...
I looked ahead, and saw a circle of trees. Tall, thick trees, tangled in vines. Why were there only trees there? I had no idea. But what I did know, was that that was the source of the smell. We walked around the circle of trees. Nobody dared to make a sound. I looked behind me at the trees. Curiosity was literally making me hurt. But this wasn't just curiosity. I felt my eyes become slits, and a voice echoed in my mind.
"Come to me..." I obeyed. I was no longer in control of my body. My mind was all fogey, and I couldn't think clearly. All I knew, was I wanted to get to those trees. I walked towards the trees. Me being at the back of the group, nobody noticed me gone. I entered the circle of trees, the horrible smell of death filling my nostrils. I looked up as a dot of blood dripped on my nose.
"It's all over now kitty...I can't wait for you to join your father...just how he joined his...."
Uni's body was hanging over me, along with hundreds of others. At least. Maybe thousands. They hung from their bones on the branches of the trees. Most of them still had flesh.
My eyes became wide again, and my mind was clear. I looked in front of me, as I saw a yellow eyed cat.
The shadow...
The voice in my head said to me...
"Now...it is time for you to die...so I can feast on you and your family!!!"

Prologue.

I followed the smell and sound. I sat in a tree next to the circle of trees.

My yellow eyes looked down at two cats fighting. This wouldn't happen on my watch. I then noticed a cat, dog, and four kittens approaching the circle. They must have been after the kitten on the inside. That wouldn't be a wise idea though. How I would stop them? Not a clue. I jumped down from the tree, then ran into the circle, before climbing one of those trees. I sat right above the two cats fighting.

One was full of cuts, a injured paw, and a missing tail. The other, all I could see was two yellow eyes. The cat was camouflaged pretty good. But I could still tell who they were, the moment I laid eyes on them.

The yellow eyed cat attacked the injured one, and wrapped its jaws around her neck. I quickly made a loud hissing sound to catch their attention. The yellow eyed cat pulled away quickly, and looked around for the source of the sound. I quickly jumped between the two cats. One lay maybe lifelessly on the bloody grass. I locked my yellow eyes on the other cats yellow eyes. It hesitated, before retreating. I looked down at the tailless, cut up, brocken pawed kitten.
I had the feeling it was too late.
