This was originally meant to be a one shot but after posting it I got a lot of requests to continue writing and I know it's been a long time but I've finally decided to give it a go. This is what I've come up with, thank you for all your lovely comments and votes. I hope you enjoy it x

After walking up to Griffindor Tower Fred and I went our separate ways to our dormitories, but not before he wrapped his arms around me again and hugged me tight. Running up the stairs of the girls dormitory I couldn't contain the grin on my face. Needless to say, I was quite happy.

I opened the door and was greeted by the familiar sight of a circular room filled with tapestry sorrounded beds dropped with red and gold sheets.

Sitting on one of these beds was Lavender Brown and Pavarti Patil, deep in convasatiom their hands soaking in a solution I recognized as Essence of Murlap. They heard me walk in and immediately turned to look at me, worried expressions on their faces.

"Hermione! Are you ok?" Pavarti questioned. I flopped down on the bed next to them and slipped my hand into the bowl of Murlap Essence, whincing, but sighing at the relief it gave.

"Yeah, I'm fine but Umbridge is unbelievable." I replied, still smiling. I couldn't contain the joy that Fred had given me. "How are you both?"

Parvati looked to Lavender and then back at me. "We're fine. I mean those quills are awful, but nothing serious." She replied.

Lavender was watching me closely and finally, with a smirk on her face, she asked: "What happened after detention?"

I hesitated, surprised that I had been caught out. "What do you mean?" I asked.

"You can't stop smiling! Something obviously happened, what boy is it?" Lavender questioned.

She was smarter than I thought. I smirked, "Let's just say Fred waited for me after detention." I replied. While Lavender and Pavarti squealed, I slowly pulled my hand out of the Murlap Essence and winced as the numbing pass seeped back into my hand.

"I'm going to bed, I hope your are both ok" I said. They wished me goodnight and I crawled into my soft, warm bed, but I was not ready to sleep.

Everybody was asleep, I could hear their soft, even breaths but my mind was racing. The punishment Umbridge uses is barbaric but there is no one to stop her. If any of the teachers speak up she will use her powers as High Inquisitor to get rid of them and now Dumbledores Army had been discovered there weren't even any students to fight back. Surely she will now be watching all the members of the DA even closer than before to ensure we do not continue our resistance.

I thought back to Fred and the way he was wincing in pain in the detention room. He was so good to be hurt like that by someone so evil.

We have to do something, I thought.

I decided that I would speak to Harry in the morning and work out how we could get rid of Umbridge.

When I woke, a single ray of sunlight was peaking through the curtains into the room. For a few brief seconds my mind was foggy but then memories of the previous night came flooding back. I remembered the detention, Fred and the resolve I made to talk to Harry.

I quickly made my way down to the Common room and was greeted by the sight of Ron and Harry sitting in a pair of arm chairs, deep in conversation. I hurried over to hear Harry say in a hushed voice: "We can't do nothing. She is turning Hogwarts upside down, she can't get away with it!"

Ron looked up at me and nodded at me in a way of greeting. "What do you think Hermione?"

"I completely agree with Harry. She is evil. And I can't stand the way she hurt..." I trailed off, my eyes wide, realizing what I was about to reveal.

"Well what's the plan then?" Ron asked turning to Harry, ,oblivious as usual. I breathed a sigh of relief, that he hadn't noticed anything.

"What's the plan for what?" A voice close to me said. I jumped and turned around to see Fred himself. I blushed profusely and looked down again.

"For getting rid of Umbridge." Harry turning back to Ron.

He kept talking but I didn't hear him; Fred had leaned close to me and said in a low voice "Hello Hermione."

"Hi Fred." I smiled shyly, I still couldn't look him in the eyes, something about made me so nervous.

Snap out of it Hermione, I thought. There's no logical reason to be nervous around Fred.

There was silence for a few moments, in which he looked at me and I looked at the floor, until I heard Ron called out: "Hermione! You coming to breakfast?" Ron and Harry had gotten up from their chairs and headed towards the portrait hole without me even realising.

"Uh, I'd better go." I said, and hurried away to join them.

Stupid stupid Hermione, I thought, you should have said something.

I felt a hand on my arm and I turned around to see Fred.

"I really like you, Hermoine. I just wanted to tell you, I'll see you later." He said and let me go. I smiled even wider than I had been and practically skipped over to Ron who gave me a weird look, but I didn't care. All I could think about is how relieved I was that things might actually be ok. Harry and Ron and I were going to find a way to stop Umbridge, and Fred really liked me.
