Chapter 3. (UnEdited)
Somehow I ended up strolling down the street the to the park in the end with Blake. I hadn't told him why I was in such a rush in leaving the mall. He didn't pry either to get me to answer. Instead he offered to go to the park. I agreed of course.
"So, do you know who I am yet?" Blake asks.
I nod, "I hear you're the school's bad boy." I answer.
He smirks, "Such a pleasant title." He says, amused.
"So, you know who I am?" I ask, curious.
"Yup, the school's nerd." he replies. "Although you don't look that nerdy."
"What you mean?"
"I expected braces and ankle swingers." He admits.
Well, I suppose he didn't see me last year. I had train tracks latched onto my teeth. They had been taken off a few months back and I'd been left with perfectly straight teeth. I was thankful to get rid of them. They had caused a lot of the bullying.
"Sorry to disappoint." I say, sarcastically. I shocked myself with the comment I had made, I was never one to be sarcastic with others. In fact I had a habit of stuttering and tripping over my own words.
"Apology accepted." he says, smirking.
We turn into the park that I'd never knew was here and that shocked me since I've lived here for five years now. Dad was the reason as to why we moved here, he had a job offer and jumped at the chance. I had wondered if he didn't take the job offer if we'd still be a happy family? Or would he found someone else to cheat on my mum with?
"Y'know you should defend yourself against the cheerleaders." Blake says as we make our way to the two single abandoned swings. There was no one insight at the park, which meant we had the park to ourselves. The park wasn't a fancy park it had your basics; Slide, swings and a roundabout. All of which are covered in graffiti.
"You sound like Alice." I tell him.
He raises an eyebrow, "Alice Granger?" He asks.
I nod, "Yup."
"You friends with her then?" He asks.
"Yeah, she's pretty much my only friend." I admit, gazing at the floor.
"Well, I'm your friend." He says.
I looked at him in shock. Blake Yates - school's bad boy - is my friend. Better yet wants to be my friend. "Really?" I squeak out.
He chuckles, shaking his head lightly. "Well I thought after you bumping into me twice we were friends." He winks "Don't seem so shocked either, your not that bad." He continues. "For a nerd that is."
"Gee, thanks." I mutter, rolling my eyes.
I walk further in front to go sit on the lonely swing. Blake sits on the other lonely swing. I push my self off and swing back and forth soothingly. I lean back on the swing allowing the slight breeze to run through my hair. A smile creeps onto my face.
"Enjoying that?" An amused voice asks. I bring my head back up and look at Blake who is staring at me with an amused expression on his face.
"Of course." I say. This was not like me. I hardly know the guy and already I'm being far to friendly with him for my liking.
"So, why was you rushing so fast out of the mall like your ass was on fire?" He asks.
Was I really rushing that fast? "No reason." I say shrugging. He was bound to think that it was a pathetic excuse as to why I rushed out of the mall 'like my ass was on fire'.
