Chapter 6. (Not Edited! Sorry)

Mum had already left by the time I descended from the stairs. Only a note and some money on the side were left. I hadn’t read the note yet and figured the money would be for food and whatnot I’d need over the next month that she was away.

So, instead of reading the note she had left behind I made myself some breakfast - cereal. I hopped onto one of the high stools that surrounded the kitchen island and scooped up a spoon of cereal before shoveling it into my mouth. Picking up yesterday’s newspaper that had been left on the work top I began to read through it while I ate my breakfast. Nothing really caught my eye as I scanned through page after page.

Swallowing the last mouthful of my breakfast I slid off my seat and dumped my bowl in the sink before heading upstairs and scrubbing my teeth before rinsing and spitting. Jogging back down the stairs I re-entered the kitchen and picked up my bag. I left the money and the note were it was and headed out of the house; Locking the door behind me.

The walk to school was like any other walk to school; Music blaring out of my headphones and into my ears as I walked to school.

The school came into view and I made sure not to bump into anyone and head straight for my locker. Alice was leaning against hers which was next to mine. She smiled when she saw me.

“No bumping into Mr. Yates?” She asked, winking.

I shook my head my cheeks turning into a rosie red, “Not today.”

She chuckles, “Anyway, did you speak to your mum before she left?” She asked her face serious.

“No, she left before I was up and she was in her office when I came home yesterday.” I reply.

“Oh, well still up for the sleepover this Friday?” She asks.

I smile, “Ofcourse.”

“Good, and I’m sorry about the detention yesterday, what did teach want you for yesterday?” She asked, curious.

“Oh, she just wanted to know why I had detention.” I replied, it was the truth just not all the truth.
