My Boss

Chapter 1

"Cassy!" I heard granny calling me

"Cassy if you don't come down, I'll come upstairs and get you myself"

After this I woke up because I know what she is capable of doing. I checked the time. OMG! It's 7:00. I was told to be at work by 7:30.

"Granny I'm going to take my bath. I'll be downstairs in 10 minutes." I yelled.

After bathing, I wore a black fitting skirt and a blue blouse and went  downstairs to Granny. My breakfast which consisted of eggs and toast was waiting for me. I immediately pounced on it.

"Cassy take your time, you are going to choke" Granny said
" Granny I don't want to be late. It's my first day at work and I don't want Mr Martins to have a bad impression about me."

She just shook her head and continued whatever she was doing.

" Granny I'm done eating" I got up and pecked her cheek.

"Bye granny" And I was already out.

When I got to work, it was 7:40. I didn't want Mr Martins to see me but I was his secretary so he would see me.

"Why are late?" he asked coldly without even glancing at me as I entered his office.He was busily typing something.

"Um...Sir I...no my...." Get a grip Cassandra!

"Look, I don't tolerate lateness in my office especially for no good reason" His voice rising higher as spoke.This time he looked at me and the look on his face was scary. I knew that I should never mess with him.

"Sorry sir" I said, looking down.

"Now leave" and I hurriedly left his office and walked to my desk with my head down, only to bump into something or should I say someone.

I raised my head to meet green eyes. "I'm so sorry I wasn't looking"

"Oh don't worry" he shrugged it off. "You must be the new secretary" he said while eyeing me up and down.

"Yes, I am"

"Oh that's nice. Damien is always taking a new secretary. Let's just hope he doesn't sack you. I'm tired of seeing a new face every time I come here."

I just smiled and didn't say anything.

"I'm Tyler Martins, Damien's brother" he said

"Mr Martins is your brother?" I half exclaimed and half asked

"Yes, any problem?" he asked with his eyebrows furrowed

"Oh no" I answered but he just smirked

"I know you are surprised. That's how he is. Damien can be grumpy sometimes but you have to tolerate him because he is your boss"

"Yeah"

"I'm going now" he said and I nodded.

But he turned again and said"You never told me your name"

"Cassandra Morales"

"So Cassandra did anyone tell you how beautiful you are?"
and I blushed

"My grandmother always tells me" I said with a smile.

"But I want to say it too"

"You are beautiful" he said with a wink and I blushed.
He is so different from his brother even though I didn't really know them.

"Thank you" I replied

"You welcome" he said with a smile "Now I've got to go. See you later Cassandra"

"Call me Cassy"

"Ok see you later Cassy" and with that, he was gone.
