The ride to the smoothie shop was horrible. Tama kept leaning up between me and Josh, and got in his face, asking all sorts of weird, seductive questions.
Do you work out? You're so ripped. I bet you get all kinds of girls back at your old school. Maybe we should hang out more, this is fun.
I love the girl to death but, for once, I wish she would act like a normal person. But then again, that might just be why I love Tama like a sister. We're best friends.
Josh was practically pleading to go home. He even sent me a text message under the table.
Josh: can we leave now? We can drop nutcase off at her house.
How he got my number, I have no idea. Probably my mom. We left and dropped Tama off. The ride home with Josh was a comfortable silence. He controlled the radio. Sometimes we'd both sing along and laugh at each other. Josh was actually really awesome. I think I'm going to like this.
"So tomorrow I'm trying out for quarterback. And also I might need your help learning my way around the school." He explained after he turned down the radio.
I laughed. "No problem, it's a pretty big school. And I hope you're good because Brad has a really good arm."
"It won't take much." He said with a smile as I pulled into our drive way.
My phone buzzed in my pocket:
Tama: You got Brad. Ill take this one;)
I rolled my eyes and laughed to myself as I threw my phone on my nightstand. I walked out onto my balcony for some peace and quiet.

I walked through the school hallways trying to keep to myself. I was greeted by what felt like every student here. I flashed them a big smile and darted to my locker as fast as my stilettos would allow me to.
A pair of hands were placed over my eyes and a velvety deep voice whispered "guess who," in my ear. I turned around and kissed Brad straight on the lips.
We stood there making out for a moment. His hands wandered hungrily over my body and held onto the small of my back, pulling me into his chest more.
He pulled away and I pouted.
"I want you to come over tonight." He gripped my forearm lightly.
"I dont know if I can, I-"
His gripped tightened around my arm until I could feel the blood having a hard time pumping. "I said, I want you to come over tonight."
He gritted his teeth inches away from my face. He started violently shaking me. "Promise me you'll come, Hailey!" I could no longer speak. His blue eyes were angry, dangerous. "Promise me!" He yelled.
Never have I ever witnessed Brad be violent towards anyone. At the moment, it was visible that he had gotten buffer over the past few days. Fear struck me.
"I- I promise."
