The following week after that night, I'd had nightmares every night, leading to Josh sleeping in my bed with me every night to help me fall asleep dreamless.
I haven't talked to Brad though I've caught him staring at me. Yesterday was my first day back at school. My bruises slightly disappeared, though I've been long sleeves and sunglasses. Just in case.
Today at school, I got up the courage to speak to Brad. I looked for him at the one place I knew he'd be. The locker rooms.
Walking into the locker rooms, I heard someone punch a locker. I slowly peeked around the corner, and what I saw completely devastated me. Brad with a cup of water and some pills.
There's no way, he couldn't be back on them! He's smarter than that.
And in that moment, I knew exactly what was happening.
