Aiden's POV

"DO YOU REALIZE YOUR MISTAKE BOYS?! DO YOU?! EVERY DAMN TIME YOU JUST HAD TO PICK A FIGHT WITH THE EASTWOOD PACK DON'T YOU?! DO YOU WANT THE HUMANS TO FIND OUT ABOUT US ?! DO YOU?!!" yelled mom as she kept jabbing her fingers at us. Both my brother and I remained silent as we avoided our mom's eyes. Growing up with a temperamental mom like this, we knew better than to talk back. Its best to be silent than fight back cause our mom will kicked our ass like no tomorrow. And she's only human. "boys, you can't keep picking fights with Eastwood pack, we've agreed to share the territorial land, therefore, we live in harmony. A treaty was signed boys. How am I suppose to hand the pack over to either one of you if you can't even make peace with the new Alpha?" Then suddenly the kitchen door opened, revealing a shirtless Caden with a bowl of popcorn. He stopped in his track when he realized the situation and quietly tip toed his way back to his room as he spoke, "I- err... I'm just gonna head to my room....... you guys carry on." Then he sprinted all the way upstairs and slammed the door. That betrayer! Didn't even bother standing up for his brothers! Then I spoke, "Dad, just because you signed the treaty with them doesn't mean we have to pretend to be nice to them." Ethan held my arm telling me to back off but I kept my stance as I stared at my dad. Challenging our dad who is an Alpha is a great disrespect. My dad began growling at me as he snarled, "Aiden Williams, you know better than to challenge me!" I stepped closer towards my dad, my face inches away from his as I spat, "I'm not going to sit and watch Alice get bullied by that bastard and I most certainly will not allow any other man but me to touch her." I brushed pass my dad and stomped my way up to my room.

I went into the bathroom and took a cold shower as images of weeping Alice kept replaying in my mind again like a broken record. Alice doesn't belong to anyone but me, she's mine. I opened my eyes as I stared at my bathroom wall in disbelief at what I had thought. Did I actually thought that? That's not right, Alice and I are best friends there's no way...... My birthday is in two weeks. If she really is my mate, I would be able to feel the bond when I turn 16.  I just shrugged and got out of the shower. I quickly put on a pair of black boxers then proceeded to exit my room to the kitchen to get some snacks. All that thinking and anger made me really hungry. When I came down, I noticed my dad was speaking on the phone to someone, he seemed really stressed out about something. Then he turned his attention to me when he saw me coming down, he shut his phone and said, "Aiden, we need to talk." I gulped nervously as I nodded at him. I went to the fridge and grab the carton of milk then poured it into my bowl of cereal. I took the bowl of cereal and put it on the kitchen counter as I took a seat right opposite of my dad. "so... if this is about the fight with the Eastwood Pack... I'm-" I was cut off halfway as my dad raised his hand, then he spoke, "Aiden, remember what I told you and Ethan about passing the pack to either one of you?" I swallowed my cereal as I groggily replied, "Yeah, you said that whichever twin finds a mate first gets the title."

"Do you know how it feels when you have found your mate?" I shook my head as I looked at him confused. My mom used to tell me about mates when I was 13 and how they are the ones who will spend the rest of their lives with you but I've never actually knew what it means or how it feels if I've found her. My dad sighed and replied, "First, you'll feel this pull or attraction towards your other half that you can't deny. Then you'll get very protective over her like your obsessed with her 24/7. Then, when you touch her, you'll feel sparks or electricity that rushes through your entire body and then, absentmindedly, your wolf will start to howl and claim the mate as mine." That's how it feels when you meet your mate? Its like you completely become a stalker when you meet the one. "Dad, aren't you exaggerating things?" I replied, then I chugged down the last few spoons of cereal down my throat. He smiled at me and then stood up. "When she stumbles into your life Aiden, you'll understand what I mean." I watch as my dad left the pack house with a bottle of water in hand. Is the pull really that strong? I continue to wonder as I placed the empty bowl into the sink.

Alice's POV

After changing into comfortable clothes, I laid on my bed staring into the ceiling as I kept thinking about Aiden. It kinda surprised me that the calm and composed Aiden would be so edgy today. Normally, it was always Ethan who would get into a fight and Aiden would always be the one to pull his brother back but today it was the other way around. Moreover, the words he said to me at my locker, I'll be damned if your ass ends up in his bed.  Why would he say that, that's none of his business. Then there's Micah, ever since detention, he apologized to me and was being genuinely nice to me. What happened in detention... It makes me wonder. Come to think of it, I haven't really bought a present yet for Ethan and Aiden and their birthday party is in two weeks. I got up from my bed and changed my clothes. I wore a pair of jeans, with plain white tang top and put on a pair of sneakers. I rushed downstairs and saw the most cringy scene ever. My brother was making out with his girlfriend on the couch. I had my hands tucked on the side of my hips as I cleared my throat. My brother pushed her off from him as he stood up looking at me blushing. "I thought nobody was home so I...." I scowled at him and then replied, "Next time, do it in the room so that I don't have to bleach my eyes." I gave a pat on his shoulder as I slipped pass him throwing a wink at the girl sitting on the couch, then grabbed my car keys and left the house.

Bet yall wondering why I don't just drive to school myself. Well that's because, the Williams insisted on fetching me to and fro even though I had my own car. We fought about it once and finally came to an understanding since it was 2 versus 1. So unfair. I drove to the nearest gift shop and stroll my way into the shop, scanning the shelves to see anything that catches my eye. Then I came across this pendent, it was a carving from wood. "Those pendents are handmade." A sudden male voice made me jumped as I turned to see a smiling old man. I smiled back and asked, "Did you carve this yourself?" The old man shook his head and then replied, "A long time ago, there was a beautiful young woman about your age. I was around 17 when she first moved into town. She was fair and her skin was flawless, she was also very kind and sweet. One day she met this strange boy in the woods, she decided to follow the boy one day into the woods. And then she never returned. Her parents got so worried about her, they called all the neighbors to form a search party for her. But what they found were a pair of pendents, carved into a wolf. The young woman loved to carve things out of wood so her parents recognizes her artwork. However, no matter how hard they tried, they still couldn't find her. Ever since then her parents kept these pendents until the day they died mourning for their missing daughter."

"Do you mind if I purchase the pendents?" I asked. The old man smiled and nodded his head. I followed the old man to the counter to make my payment but the old man refused. "Keep it child. Its yours now. I'll only charge you for the gift box and wrapping papers." I awkwardly withdrew back my money into my purse as I watch the old man place the pendents into the box and wrapping it neatly. Then the old man spoke again, "May I ask child, why do you purchase these pendent?" I shrugged and replied, "It somehow reminded me of my two best friends." The old man then replied, "Some say the beautiful young woman was missing, but I believe she was taken by werewolves." I giggled and replied, "There's no such thing as werewolves!" The old man turned to look at me as he replied, "Oh my child, you'll be surprised in what you find in this town. Sometimes the things that go bump in the night may actually be real here." I awkwardly smile at the old man as I took my gift box and exited the shop. I waved at the old man before getting into my car and driving back home. Well... that was awkward.
