Chapter 1

Jolly glanced out of his window. He needed a test subject and he needed it fast.

Papa was out of the question..... imagine the consequences.

Mama..... Well she didn't like Jolly much anyway and so he couldn't risk it.

Dante wouldn't be appropriate. After all he was new and Jolly still hadn't made up his mind about him.

So, It has to be....

"JOLLY!!Need anything today? !?"

Irisu came running in, drawing pad in one hand and twirling a pencil with her other hand.
She ran up to him and tilted her head to the side.
"What are you doing?"

She'll have to do.....

"Irisu, run a few errands for me."

"What for?" She said with a defiant scowl.

This girl....

"Do you want to help or not?"

"Yes.... but your errands are usually disgusting! Sumire almost killed me for getting that squid ink on my dress! Then there was that smelly plant....UGHH!!"

"Then run off and don't bother me."

"Huh.... it's fine..."she murmured "What should I do?"

This girl's so easy to trick...

"Here's the list. Come back soon and you might get a reward."

Irisu raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

A reward from Jolly was a rare and dangerous thing. She wasn't going to fall for it that easily....

"It's Ok Jolly! Don't put so much effort into the gift."

She twirled towards the door and with a mischievous wink said "A kiss would do you know!"

"Get lost Irisu."

The door slammed shut and Jolly turned back to his desk.

That girl!! Why the heck would she say that? ! Kiss her!! Ridiculous!!

The last man who tried almost got killed for that!!

And... WHY AM I EVEN THINKING ABOUT HER!!!

Brushing aside all these thoughts He quickly got down to work.

Irisu ran back so that Jolly wouldn't shout at her for being too slow. She waved to the new guy Dante who was standing outside in the garden and rushed down to the lab.

"JOLLY!! I'm here! The goods!!"

She dumped the stuff on the table and smiled at him.
He didn't smile back.

Damn him!! He could try!!

"Well done Irisu."
"HUH!!"
"You must be tired. You did good. Here have a chocolate!"
"GAH!!!!!!"

Irisu looked at the pretty little candy in front of her and scowled at Jolly.

"What's the catch?! You poisoned it!"

Jolly gave a dry smile

"No...don't be silly Irisu! You don't think I made it right?? It's from the house."

Irisu blushed slightly and took the candy.

"Go on." Said Jolly.

"What?"
"Tell me how it tastes."
"HUH! !! HOLD IT!!! WHAT-"
"If it tastes good I'll eat mine."
"Oh... Ok."

Irisu didn't trust Jolly but she had no choice but to eat it. She didn't want to upset him.

"Uh! It's not that good!" she said after a few seconds.

"Ok! Then I won't have mine! Now go out and give this to Dante!"
"Wha-"
"Run along!"

Jolly thrust a note into her hands and practically shoved her out and banged the door shut.

Ungrateful!!!

She stormed out and flicked the note into Dante's hands.

"What is this??" He asked.

"Jolly gave it..."

Then she walked away towards the house.

Jolly watched this scene quietly through the window.

I guess it didn't work... what a waste...
