Chapter 5

Irisu didn't bother him for the rest of the day. He didn't even see her. But when she didn't show up for dinner he got anxious.

That girl always gets me into trouble!!!

He ran out looking for her, ignoring Sumire's cold stares.

He finally found her in the gazebo.

"Come on Irisu." he said tugging her dress sleeves "You are in trouble."

"I don't care."

"What..."

"I don't care. Not when.... not when...." she looked at him her eyes filled with fake tears.

The "fake" part was to convince him that this was all just an illusion and not a disaster threatening to wreck his life.

"Oh come on.... Stop this!!"

"Oh Jolly!! Why can't you see it!!!! Why don't you look at me the way you used to!!!"

GAAK!!!!

Jolly choked as he looked at her in horror........

"After I came back...."

Oh that's what she meant....

"You treat me as I mean nothing to you!"

Jolly was tempted to say she was right but for some reason he did not feel like it. After all she had saved him from being brained.... quite literally....

"You don't talk to me!!! You tell me nothing!!!! I love you!!! Why can't we..... as when we were kids..... Why do you push me away like this!!"

"Irisu..." he said awkwardly sitting next to her.

Jolly knew that if he handled this somehow today, she would be back to normal tomorrow.

If not....... he would kill himself......

He couldn't stand the strain for another day....................

"Look.... We are..... friends....."

It felt odd to say the word. But good at the same time because she immediately stopped crying and looked at him.

"Really?"

"Um.... Yes. Shall we go? I have work tomorrow and you'll be perfectly fine tomorrow. I promise. If not.........."

Jolly trailed off.....

If not I'll probably die of shock.......

"Oh Jolly!! Is something wrong?!?!"

"Oh no!!!"

He said swatting her hands away.
"Let's go Irisu! Please!"

"Jolly... One more thing...."

"Yes....." he said patiently.

"Do you love me?"

"Ah..."

"YES!!! YES YOU DO!!!!" she screamed jumping up and twirling around happily.

"WHAT!!!!NO I DON'T!!"

"YES YOU DO!!! YOU HESITATED!!!! YOU DO LOVE ME!!!"

"WHA-NO!!!"

Jolly cursed himself. It was only for a second.

AND WHY THE HECK DID HE HESITATE!!!!

IT WAS NOT LIKE.........

Irisu suddenly hugged him and it surprised him that it actually made him happy to see that she was happy.

"Oh I do love you!!" She said and kissed him.

"Uh.... Let's go.... Irisu....." he said.

As they walked away he let her take his hand.

Tomorrow........ Please let this stop!!!!

Jolly went to the lab. He had really enjoyed breakfast today because Irisu was back to normal.

She didn't remember any of the details and had stuck her tongue out at him rudely when he had suggested she buy some stuff for him......

That's the Irisu I know and-

Jolly stopped. He sat down at the table and looked out.

Why he had even started that line of thought he didn't know...

He looked down at the candy........

It had lasted for two days, when he had thought just one.

Perhaps it actually did just amplify one's emotions.... which meant it did not matter whether you touched someone or not.........

But how do I verify?

I need another test subject..... someone with less emotions than Irisu......

These were certainly not love potions!!!!

Well..........

Without hesitating he picked one up and popped it into his mouth.
