You're drifting. It almost feels like a soft fluffy cloud you're floating on but it fades too quickly when the sound of your phone alarm goes off, pulling you straight into reality.
You groan and shift to turn the alarm off and turn to then lie on your back, staring up at the ceiling.
You blink a couple of times to make sure you're back in reality. You sigh softly and make a move to get up from your bed. Shuffling about in your slippers, you make your way to the kitchen and make yourself coffee.
As you are waiting, you begin to daydream and remember that you forgot to get the mail yesterday from the mail room. Forgetting about your abandoned coffee machine you walk over to the door quickly, slipping on a light jacket and make your way out the door.
Thinking that because it's early, nobody would be in the mailroom but boy, were you wrong. As you lifted your mail out of the box, a figure came to stand beside you out of the corner of your eye. You knew by the way he walked, sighed and hummed, it was the man from apartment 219, your next door neighbour, Kim Jungwoo.
Trying to get away as fast as you can, he stops you with two simple words. 'Good morning'. You stop in your tracks and then around, bow slightly and sighing out a shy greeting back. You shuffle backwards still bent forward slightly as you make your way to the elevator.
There's no way you could look him in the eye, even though you've known him for 3 years. You've always been shy around him and he's always seen you at your worst.
As your riding up in the elevator, you think back to the time when you first officially met Jungwoo.
It was just a couple of weeks after you moved into your apartment. You were still in school at the time and unfortunately it was raining the minute you came out of your school library.
Running through the rain to get home, you realised that you missed the last bus. You groaned loudly and began to run home. You felt like crying, your whole uniform was drenched in water, your glasses too.
Standing at the traffic lights you waited with no patience as the rain was getting heavier with stronger showers. Once the light went green you rain across the road quickly only to slip with you got to the other side. Just your luck, it had to be a mucky puddle you slipped on. Landing on your back you cried out softly as the fall was quite hard.
You sat there for about 2 minutes when a tall figure walked up beside you and knelt down to you with an umbrella. You looked up slowly and squinted to find a man who was looking at you very concerned.
'Are you okay? Can you stand?'
You looked blankly at him, forgetting what was just said when you blinked rapidly and started to stand, limping softly on your right foot.
The man grabbed your arm and told you to hold on to him, you blushed softly.
He was kind, you have to admit, but you were still a bit weary of him, I mean you don't even know this guy, but because it was raining, your hurt and your mostly just fed up, you let him take you home.
When you arrive to your apartment building, you realise that this guy must be walking you to your door.
'What floor are you on' he asked. Instead of answering you press your floor button and look at the floor. You then speak up and say 'um, thank you but you don't have to leave me to my door'.
You then hear him laugh softly into his hand, you give him a questionable gaze, 'yeah I know, but I live here too, I live in apartment 219.'
You zone out for a second when you realise that apartment 219 was right next to you. You cringe at what you just said staring down at your wet shoes and whisper a quiet 'sorry'.
He looks at you smiling as he stretches out his hand and tries to meet your gaze.
'I actually don't think we've officially met, I'm Kim Jungwoo'.
