Chapter 10: Anytime

"W-what...?" Poppy said as she gasped silently. She couldn't believe it. After everything that has happened, after everything that Branch has done for her and the kingdom. After Stream, his brother, the fight, he has sacrificed so much for others. And this is what he gets? Poppy didn't speak. She was trying to process what Branch had just said. She knew what to do, she knew what to say. She just couldn't speak. 

"Poppy? A-are...you still there?" Branch asked quietly. Poppy sapped out of her trance and looked back to Branch who was staring straight ahead. 

"Y-yes. I'm still here." She replied while moving closer to him to make him more comfortable. She heard him sigh. At least he's calming down, hopefully. 

"Do you want to......go to Doc or.....?" She asked. Branch sighed again. He needed to go to Doc but he didn't want too. He knows that he'll need to get used it but he doesn't want too. And there's a slight possibility that he'll forget what things look like but he doesn't want too. He suddenly got the thought that he might forget what Poppy looks like. 

"Poppy?" 

"Yea?" 

Branch turned around to face Poppy but his eyes we're facing more upwards. More like just above her head. "Can we go home?" The tears we're slowly falling down his face. Poppy saw the sadness, worry and anxiety in his now.........grey eyes. She smiled. "Sure." 

Branch and poppy waited a little while before heading back to their house because Brach didn't want to be looked at, even though he wouldn't have known about it. 

Time Skip - Poppy and Branch are now their house 

"Ok and here's the bed." "Thanks Poppy." "No problem Branch." 

Once they got back, it was dark outside so both of them decided to go to bed anyway. Poppy asked Branch about going to Doc's tomorrow morning. Branch hesitated at first but he knew that he would need to go sooner or later so he said yes. 

"Night Branch."

"Night Poppy. I love you.'

"I love you too."

"Hey Poppy?" 

"Yea?" 

"Thanks."

"Anytime."
