Chapter 12: Definitely Not Normal

Branch knew that his other senses became stronger. Doc said it was normal. But something felt weird. Like, his senses really heightened. He could hear things from really far away, he could smell things from really far away and if something bad is going to happen or is happening, he feels it (he's like Daredevil lol). 

He decided to talk to Doc, alone. Branch went inside and told Doc everything. Doc tried reading all of his books on blindness and he found nothing relating to why Branch's senses are so heightened. Doc asked Branch if he could demonstrate his powers and use his others senses while doing it. He did. 

Doc suggested aiming his powers somewhere nobody is so he wont hurt anyone. His fire was aimed at a large near by river. It traveled there and crashed into the water.

Branch knew that he was not normal, obviously. So he decided to go to Poppy, who was with the kids in the preschool.....Great. So Branch came over near the preschool and he heard the sound of screams and shouting from the young trolls. So he knew that was the way to go. He got to the entrance of the preschool and called Poppy's name.

"Branch? Hey, how are you?"

"Good, you?"

"Yea, good. Come on in." Branch walked through the door way and sensed a child running near him without realising he (the child) was getting to close. Branch stepped back away from the small troll just before they collided. 

"Woah, woah! Watch out next time, okay kid?" He said with a smirk. 

"Oh my, I'm so sorry King Branch!" The child replied. 

"That's okay. Go have fun now." Branch shooed the child off (politely) and sensed Poppy walking up towards him. 

"Hey Branch, how did you know that kid was going to run into you?" She asked with a confused tone. 

"I-I don't know. I just felt something coming near me and since I heard screaming, I knew it was a child." Branch chuckled as he and Poppy linked arms and walked over towards a seating area near front of the classroom. They sat down and talked together for about 20 minutes before that same little troll came running up to them. 

"Excuse me, King Branch?" The little boy asked. Branch turned his attention to the little troll and said "yes?" 

"My name is Joey and I was wondering if I could ask you a question?" 

"Sure Joey, go ahead." Branch replied with a huge smile. 

"Can you read us a story?" Joey asked with wide eyes. Poppy froze up slightly and looked towards Branch knowing that he was also frozen. Branch 'looked' at Joey and smiled sadly. 

"I'm sorry. But not today, Joey." He said on the edge of tear waterfall. But before that could happen, Poppy stepped in. 

"How about I read the story?" Poppy asked. Joey's smile sprung back to life and nodded his head in appreciation while wondering why King branch couldn't read the story himself. Until Poppy suddenly thought of something else. 

"Come on guys, story time! And King Branch is telling the story!"

Hey guys!

So I know my chapters are getting shorter but that's only because I don't know what to do with this story. I kind of think about it as I write and that's why it's taking so long to finish. 

But I am going to try and finish this book by chapter 15 (that will be the maximum amount of chapters for this book). 

I don't like leaving a story unfinished. 

But I have one more week of school then it's holidays, 2 whole weeks off! 

I'll try to finish this book off before the holidays end. I probably won't but you know, I'll try. 

After this I'm thinking of starting another book about Trolls. But yes, sorry for so many chapters xx
