Gotham's Game of Cat and Mouse

Part 12: Push too far

The GCPD with Penguin and Zsasz arrived at the address. It was a warehouse on the outskirts of Gotham, dark and foreboding. Penguin and Zsasz were eager to get inside and Chloe out, their plan was to find Chloe and leave Jim and the GCPD behind so they wouldn't get caught by Jerimiah. Once everyone had got out of their cars, Jim said "Right this is the plan me, Harvey, Harper, Penguin, Zsasz and some of Penguin's thugs will enter the warehouse the rest of you will remain at here and wait for my signal, if we do this right we can capture Jerimiah and Ecco along with Chloe" the GCPD all shouted in agreement.

The group entered the warehouse, it had been done up quite nicely and there were lights on. Zsasz went through first looking for any traps, he couldn't find any "Looks pretty clear boss" he said. Jim frowned he expected a few traps but he shouldn't get cocky nothing was ever easy with Jerimiah. They arrived at a long passage where there were exits at the end left and right. The group pondered which way to go. Suddenly a red and black jester ran passed them heading down to the left. Zsasz fired his gun at them but they managed to dodge the bullets.

"Its Ecco lets go after her" Jim exclaimed, they were all about to head to the left when they heard a loud scream coming from the right.

"That must be Chloe" Penguin said. "Jim you go after the jester me and Zsasz will find Chloe" Jim nodded in agreement and the groups went the different paths.

Jim, Harvey and Harper ran through the left exit they couldn't see Ecco anywhere in the room they found themselves entering. There was a giant glass cube filled with security monitors and a large computer. "What is this?" Harvey questioned. Suddenly Ecco walked into the glass cube however she wasn't in the jester outfit she was wearing her normal skirt and top, she sat in the chair in front of the computer.

"Where's Chloe?" Jim called out. Ecco didn't say anything her eyes were on the computer screen. Jim and Harvey were running out of patience, Harvey slammed his fist on the glass.

"Wait" was all that Ecco said. Harper started looking at the monitors looking for signs of Chloe or Jerimiah, Harper soon spotted Jerimiah walking down the corridor and turning right.

"Jim, Jerimiah is going after Penguin!" she shouted. Suddenly Ecco turned on an air horn causing them to cover their ears. Once the noise stopped they turned round to leave when the jester appeared and pulled a lever bringing down a thick glass wall which trapped them inside. Jim looked at Ecco who was still by the computer and then back at the jester who was on the other side of the glass wall. Jim's eyes widened when the jester winked at them.

"Oh no" Jim whispered, he then shouted "Penguin!" the jester ran off down the corridor. Jim looked back over at Ecco who had just pressed a button. Gas started flowing into the room knocking the three of them out.

Meanwhile Penguin and Zsasz believed they found Chloe they think she's behind a metal door which was closed using chains "I got this" Victor said shooting the chains causing them to break. Zsasz and the thugs with a lot of effort pulled open the metal door. It was an empty room but chained up in the corner crying was someone with a black hood over their head. "Chloe?" Victor called out there was no response they kept on crying.

Penguin cautiously went over to them and took the hood off, it wasn't Chloe it was a dark haired girl with a J branding on her cheek and they were dead. On top of her head was a recorder playing a crying sound. "Victor that's not Chloe" he said nervously, suddenly there were gun shots Penguin's thugs dropped down dead with bullets in their heads. Penguin and Victor quickly turned around to find the jester aiming a gun at them. Jerimiah soon appeared clapping his hands.

"Excellent observation Penguin" Jerimiah sneered. He walked next to the jester with an admirable look in his eyes. Victor quickly drew his guns aiming them at Jerimiah, the jester pointed the gun at Victor. "There's no need for guns Victor Zsasz" Jerimiah said.
