Part 34: Ace in the hole

-Jeremiah's Hideout-

Chloe was all set. Today was the day that Jeremiah goes down. She had just met with him where he explained his plan, he was going to lure Bruce to Ace Chemicals with some sick plan involving his parents. She was to wait with Ecco and a guy named Jervis Tetch who apparently was able to hypnotise people while they make some sort of chemical firework, she hadn't been paying attention when he explained that part. When Bruce and Jeremiah are fighting that was when the spotlight was suddenly be on her instead. There was still the debate about whether to tell Victor about Ace Chemicals "He'll get in the way" she murmured as she put her red lipstick on.

"I dunno, bring him along it will make things more fun maybe Jeremiah will kill him" Jerome's voice in her head laughed.

Chloe sighed "Please piss off Jerome I'm not in the mood".

"That hurt, why are you continuing to resist me life would be so much easier if you would embrace the madness" Jerome laughed again. Chloe ignored him and pulled her hair up into a ponytail "Don't ignore me Chloe its impossible, your going to loose it soon and destroy everyone you care about".

"Quiet!" she hissed clenching her fists.

"Look in the mirror and tell me what do you see, is it still you or is it me?" he asked her. Growling she looked into the mirror in front of her. She saw herself glaring back at her, then she saw her hair in pig tails one at each side of her head each end dyed ginger. Jerome's scars all over her face and a stained red smile over her lips, her eyes glowing purple. Anger surged through her veins and she grabbed the hairbrush smashing the mirror.

"Go away!" she shouted.

"Yikes that's two mirrors now, isn't that 14 years bad luck in total?" Jerome laughed manically.

"Are you alright my dear?" she heard someone ask. She turned around to see Jeremiah standing in the doorway a concerned look on his face.

"Yes I'm fine just a headache and nerves that's all" she replied smiling. Jeremiah walked up to her and wrapped his arms round her waist.

"Don't be nervous Chloe soon everything will be as it should be" he said kissing her cheek. She had no clue what he meant by that. His lips moved to her neck "You know there's still time for some fun, Ecco and Tetch can wait" he whispered suggestively as he gently nibbled at her neck.

Chloe rolled her eyes and giggled "Now, now Jeremiah you need to be focused for Bruce" she gently put her hand on his chest. He sighed and lifted his head "Maybe afterwards?" she suggested mischievously.

"Now that sounds delightful" he smirked. They walked out to his car and drove to Ace Chemicals "Be good" he said kissing her on the lips, he then grabbed her collar and pulled her to him "Remember what I said before" he warned before letting go.

-Ace Chemicals-

Chloe walked into the building looking at all the hypnotised workers dealing with the chemicals. She smiled to herself it looks like they haven't found what she had hidden here. "Ah Chloe your finally here" Ecco called out beckoning her to come over. Next to her was a man with top hat who Chloe assumed must be Jervis Tetch "Jervis this is Chloe, Jeremiah's girlfriend" she said girlfriend with a hint of spite in her voice.

Jervis stepped forward "Pleasure to meet you my dear" he said kissing Chloe's hand. He looked her over "You remind me of my deceased sister Alice" he added. She swallowed clearly uncomfortable this man was creeping her out.

"Pleasure, so Ecco we just wait here for the signal?" she asked.

"Yes originally Jeremiah was going to leave me in charge of the truck with the fireworks, but he has changed his mind now I'm going to stay here and one of these hypnotised weirdos will go with the truck" Ecco explained. Chloe bit the inside of her mouth, Jeremiah must be thinking somethings up he's not stupid.
