Alissa was doing her work, although she could hardly concentrate on it. It was slightly raining outside. She stood up from her chair and stood in front of the window, capturing the beauty of the sky. It was a little dark and a shade of orange was there. She slides the window open and took a deep breath. The knots in her head were getting untied. She felt relaxation taking over her.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" She heard a voice from next to her. She knew who it was. But for the first time, it did not bother her.
She kept her eyes closed and hummed. Though, she didn't know that Eric mentioned her in the reference. Eric was captivating the beauty of Alissa. His eyes shined a bit. He was looking at her with love. The passion he had inside of him for her.
"I am sorry" He said. Alissa slowly opened her eyes and turned towards him.
"Hmm?" She scrunched up her eyebrows.
"I am sorry Alissa"
"For what?" Alissa pretended to act like she did not know what he was talking about.
"I am sorry for that night in the club a-and in my mansion. I didn't mean to make you feel like that" He confessed.
"Listen, we don't get the apology just by asking, we have to earn it, which you have to do" Alissa said.
"H-how?" He asked.
"I'll give you one week. Prove it to me that you are sorry" Alissa said with a challenging look.
"I'll prove it to you" Eric said with confidence that Alissa doubted herself if she was underestimating him.
"Think once more" Alissa raised her eyebrow.
"No turning back now" Eric said and left the cabin. Alissa slides the window closed and started to do her work.
These days she noticed strange behaviour in Jade. She is acting all weird from the day Alissa went to the club. It feels like she is hiding something from her. She is not what she used to be. She has changed. She is staying in her thoughts, not listening to what Alissa is saying. Not eating properly. Alissa thought that she needs to talk to her today about everything that is going on.
Soon as Alissa completed her work she left for her house. She went home and opened the door with the spare keys. As she opened the door she saw that Jade was nowhere.
"Jade" She called out.
"Jade" She yelled louder. No response. Now she was anxious.
She ran towards Jade's room. She heard some sniffles from inside the room. She opened the door and saw Jade on the bed crying her heart out. Alissa ran towards her and took her in her arms. She rubbed her back and made her quiet.
"What happened?" Alissa asked.
She sobbed harder.
"Okay. Okay. Shh" Alissa said.
"We can talk about it later. Just go to sleep" Alissa stayed with her till she fell asleep. She put the blanket over her and left the room. Alissa was quite worried, that what must be there that Jade wants to tell her about.
Alissa had lost the appetite of eating anything. She went to her room and changed into her night suit. She switched on the mobile and started to do something with it. Suddenly, she received a call. It was from Eric. Her heart stopped for a moment. She picked up the call.
Alissa: Hello?
Eric: Hi
Alissa: Umm, hello sir.
Eric: Just Eric Alissa. Outside the office, it is just Eric only for you.
Alissa: Okay si-....Eric...
Eric: So, you okay?
Alissa: Ah...Uh..Yes
Eric: I don't think so. You sound tense.
Alissa: No, it is not like that. Just quite tired.
Eric: Y'sure?
Alissa: Yeah....
Eric: Okay then. Just wanted to make sure that you are okay. Bye. Good night.
Alissa: Bye. Good night
And with that, the call came to an end. Alissa knew that Eric wanted to talk about something else as well. But maybe couldn't do it.
Do I make him... nervous?
Alissa thought
No, Alissa what are you thinking. You don't have a supermodel look that you will make him nervous.
Alissa thought.
She looked at her mobile for the last time and set the alarm. She lied down on her bed and slowly drifted off to sleep.
