A story about naksh and keerti two medical students. Keerti lost her parents when she was young. And being their family friend she grew up along with naksh with akshara and naitik. Will they realize their love?? Or will it be only friendship???

He just looked at her through the door teary eyed. With every passing minute it struck him harder that he couldn't protect her and somewhere he was also responsible for this state of hers. Just then she slowly gained conscious and he could see she was calling out for someone. He rushed to see if it was for him but the doctor came out saying she was calling for her mom which meant akshara. How he wished he could go and console her taking her in his arms.
Akshara went to her. She was feeling weak, looking at her keerti's eyes welled up. She was guilty,she wanted to explain to her what actually happened. Akshara just wiped off her tears and kissed her forehead. You don't owe me any explanation she said as she brushed her fingers through her hair gently caressing her. She hugged her tightly while keerti was inconsolably sobbing in her embrace.
Kartik looking at them had a very difficult time controlling his tears. He cursed his fate for taking his parents away. Only if our mom and dad were here you wouldn't have been through so much keerti, he thought as he felt a pair of arms on his shoulder. He turned around to see naitik and quickly wiped off his tears. I know we cannot be your parents but you both are no less than our kids. They shared an emotional hug.
All of them were inside the room, talking to keerti. Naksh also came in,
Naksh: Mumma, papa, doctor has said all of us cannot stay here. Only one person is enough. So i'll stay along you guys go home and rest.
Kartik: Its ok naksh. I'll stay here, you guys can go home.
Naksh: Come on kartik, tomorrow you guys have to attend an important meeting, and papa has to attend to important cases. I'll be here you guys don't worry. Is it ok for you keerti?? she smiled softly.
They agreed. Akshara kissed keerti on her forehead before leaving and asked her to take rest without thinking of anything else. They left.
Naksh went and silently sat down beside her. There was absolute silence. Keerti avoided any eye contact with him. She was guilty about what had happened. Understanding this, he initiated the conversation
Naksh: How are you feeling now??
Keerti: Better. And.. Naksh Thank you.
Naksh: For what??
Keerti: Kartik told me that you brought me here when i fell unconscious.
Naksh: You don't have to. I have every right to do so.
Keerti: Rights?? On me?? And how did that happen??
Naksh: Because I lo.. and he realized what he had done. Because I am your friend, he covered up. Ok wait let me get your medicines.
She held his hand and stopped him from going.
Keerti: Later on. For now, just stay with me please..
He could not deny her. She drifted into sleep while holding his hand.

He was busy adoring her and he also dozed off on the chair. Next morning naksh woke up to some sounds and was literally shocked to see akshara there.
Naksh: Mumma!!
Akshara: Shhh!! She's still sleeping. She was smiling as she arranged their breakfast on the table.
He got up to help her but realized keerti was holding his hand. He was shocked as akshara saw their hands held together. He slowly released his hand from hers.
Naksh: Mumma vo last night ... he wanted to explain, but akshara stopped him and asked him to come and sit down beside her. He was a little scared as he didn't know what she would be asking him.
Akshara: Duugu, What's the matter?? she asked
Naksh: Nothing.
Akshara: You can't lie to your mom.
He understood there was no point in hiding it from her now.
Naksh: Mumma I don't know how to tell you, and whether its right or wrong, he held her hands, all i know is I LOVE HER. he said his eyes still down not knowing how to face her.
Akshara just hugged him, shocking him. She kissed him on his forehead.
Akshara: Such a good thing it is. Why were you scared and guilty?? There's nothing wrong.
Naksh: Are you not angry?? I thought you would be.
Akshara: Are you mad?? Why will we be angry? Infact we always wanted this. Keerti is the best choice for you. I am so happy. she hugged him again.
Naksh: Shh.. mumma relax she'll wake up.
Akshara: Oh! ok sir I won't disturb your girlfriend.
Naksh: mumma!!
Akshara: I didn't even realize when you grew up so fast. She held his hands, Duugu, just promise me you'll never hurt keerti. She has already gone through so much of pain in her life.
Naksh: I promise. She just hugged him.
After a while keerti woke up. Akshara fed her breakfast while naksh adored the two of them. They completed all the formalities and went home.
Badi dadi did aarti to ward off all evil eyes.
Naitik: keerti came and hugged naitik. He just caressed her hair gently. Actually keerti I have got some news for both of you.
Both of them in chorus: What news?? Everybody is assembled in the hall.
Naitik: Its a circular from your college, as very soon you'll be having your final tests, they have arranged a small trip for all of you. You can go treking with your friends and just enjoy yourselves.
Akshara: That's so good.
Naksh: Wow papa. When do we have to go??
Keerti: Its not compulsory na papa. I don't want to go. She got up to go.
Naitik stopped her. You don't have to compromise your happiness because of someone else. Understand. Anyways Aditya has been suspended so he won't be there right. I don't want my daughter to miss any memory in her life.
She just hugged him as he caressed her hair. Ok then I'll go.
Naksh: That's great, he said excitedly. Everyone's gaze shifted to him, and all were looking at him with a question mark while akshara was smiling looking at him. He realized.
Naksh: What?? Why are you guys looking at me like that? Both of us can go together na with our friends, I was just excited.
Naitik: Ok fine. Now both of you go and pack your bags. They left.
