An Interlude

At about this time every year, I re-read The Perks of Being a Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky. It's something of a tradition that I use as a comfort blanket to settle my nerves going into a new school year.
Unfortunately, I love TPoBaW far too much to think critically about it, so I don't review it. Instead, I'll leave a few good things here.
This year, please accept a painting by the wonderful Brian Froud, a verse of Savannah Brown's stunning poem Moles Don't Think About Space or Small Talk, and my favourite song of late, Silver Lining by First Aid Kit.

Or, you could just ignore this- it is a bit weird. Normal services will be resumed soon.

if i was a mole
in the side of a hill i wouldn't
seek that same masochistic thrill that
keeps my human heart humming,
human mind numbing,
someone please help me, i think i'm becoming
insignificant again--
that's the third time today.
a mole wouldn't cry when asked of its day
