•Winston's POV•

"You coward! The apple really doesn't fall far from the tree!" Xenos yelled at me as he shook his chains that were currently restraining him. "Kill me, you disappointment! Do the work your father was too weak to do!" He shouts.

My fists clenched and unclenched as I stared at the Warlock in front of me. He was evil and I'd be doing the world a favor by getting rid of him. Right now he was too weak to work any magic so I better take the chance while I had it. Without thinking twice, I stepped up to him and landed a hard punch on the side of his face.

"I hope you burn in hell with the rest of your ancestors." I didn't even think about what I was saying. It just came to me like an instinct. My hands flew up and closed around his neck in a death-grip. He tried to gasp for air even though my hands were allowing no oxygen to pass. The only way immortals can die are at the hands of other immortals. "Die! Die!" I yelled in his face.

I could tell he hadn't expected me to kill him today by the look on his face. Pure surprise as written everywhere. His wide brown eyes looked around for anything to help him live another day but sadly, there was nothing. His eyes returned to me with a pleading look, begging me to spare his life.

If there's one thing I was taught, it was to have no mercy for this person. His eyes began to droop before he finally stopped his struggling. Instead of letting go, I tightened my grip around his neck until his death was confirmed. I let him drop to my feet. I had finally done it. The world will experience relief because of his passing. "Josh take it to the field so that it may decay." I turned around swiftly and walked upstairs so that I can sleep soundly.

I sat up quickly with the sun almost blinding me. It was a dream. I realized I had gone to sleep just outside of Scottsdale, Arizona. I had gotten tired and found a hidden spot to rest. I was still on the hunt for Athanasios' mate. This was the one task I really wanted to accomplish before I died. It was my bucket list. I picked myself up from the ground and began my searching again.

_____

Lukas lied to me. He was a weasel that deserved death and I'd be the one to give it to him. He was probably lying to me the whole time. He probably picked a state out of his hat and sent me running off with the information for his own amusement. My usual calm face had transformed into a deep frown at the idea.

I turned around in the direction I came from and began walking. I felt so dumb. I shouldn't have trusted anyone. Especially with a mission as special as this one. A sudden breeze passed by me and I thought I caught a faint smell of Athanasios. My senses were weakening and I questioned what I thought was Athanasios' scent. I knew it wasn't him because the scent was more feminine. Could it be? Was that weasel right? When I caught another whiff of the scent I knew I wasn't smelling things.

I started off in the direction of the scent and made sure not to lose it. I was running at this point even though the pain was close to unbearable. My sense of smell would weaken by the hour so I had to be careful not to lose her.

•Natalie's POV•

"How much longer?" I ask. We've been walking for hours and I was having extreme pains. I was pregnant with triplets for crying out loud. "Not long," Ioanna says. I was panting as they lead the way. I stopped and suddenly fell to my knees at a sudden pain. "Another kick?" Ioanna asks. I shake my head as I squeeze my eyes shut at the pain. It was much worse than a kick. "Uh, Ioanna... If you hadn't noticed, she's bleeding a little." Zephyra pointed out.

I looked down to find that my clothes were indeed soaked with blood along with a clear substance. "Her water broke!" Ioanna almost shouted. "But it's too early." I managed to say. Zephyra shrugged and tried to help me up. "They're premature I guess."
