We walk inside, Lana holding some lasagna that she made, us Steel girls are amazing at cooking. Well, Lana isn't a Steel anymore, she's a Dalton.
"Thank you, dear" Mrs. Dalton says, putting the lasagna on a hot pad.
"Hi Jake" I say, once I walk in.
"Do you want to talk?" Jake asks.
"Um.. okay" I answer.
He grabs my hand, and we walk up into his room. He shuts the door behind him.
Oh my god what is he going to do?
He kisses me.
"What was that?" I ask, pulling away.
"I want you, I want to be with you. I lied about the wanting to chase from girl to girl thing, it's my cover" Jake answers.
"Cover for.. what?" I reach for his hands and hold them.
"I don't want to get hurt, like how I hurt you, I'm afraid you are going to hurt me, are you going to hurt me?" Jake explains really fast.
"No, Jake, no, okay? I love you" I reply, laughing, and kissing him.
"I love you too" he pulls away, and then I hug him really tight.
"Never let me go" I whisper.
Then, the door opens.
"No girls in the bedroom!" Cameron pretends to be his mom, again.
"Mom, we were talking privately" Jake explains, still holding me in his arms.
"Honey, you know the rules!" Cameron grabs my arm, and pulls me out, I just crack up.
"I'm sorry mommy" Jake hugs Cameron.
"I forgive you, baby, but listen to me next time!" Cameron pats his back.
"TIME FOR DINNER!" I hear Mrs. Dalton, I mean Betty, I forget to keep calling her that, yell.
We all go downstairs, and sit at the table.
"Jake, I think this is the first time I have seen you in a tuxedo" Cameron says, and laughs, as we sit down.
Mrs. Dalton begins bringing food to the table.
"So, Lana, when is the baby due?" Mrs. Dalton- Betty- asks, as she sits down.
"In exactly 3 months, so, January 10th, and I'm having twins, one boy, and one girl" Lana answers.
"Okay, cool, more grand kids for me, and Lea, are you and Jake going to Homecoming together?" She looks at me.
I totally forgot about Homecoming and it was in a week.
"Um, are we, Jake?" I look at him.
"Of course" he smiles, squeezing my hand.
"Well, I'm taking you shopping then, sis!" Lana smiles, getting all excited.
"Okay, cool, but we will have to go like, tomorrow" I begin to panic a bit, I hate when things are so close, and I'm not ready for them.
"Relax" Jake whispers in my ear, sending goosebumps to my neck.
"So, mom, since we are having twins, could you help with... expenses?" Cameron asks.
"You know me.. I don't have much money, Hun, I'd love to help, but.. I can't, darling, I'm barely paying for this house with my part-time job" Betty answers.
"I thought Dad left money before he.. left?" Jake asks.
"Honey, money doesn't last forever" she explains.
The whole table goes silent after Jake brought up their dad.
We eat dinner, and it's amazing, not that I was surprised. We hang out for a bit after, but leave earlier then we hoped, we have to get up early tomorrow to shop.
I'd never been much of a shopping girl, but this was the one thing I wanted to look perfect to.
