It had been an hour since the rain had stopped. It had rained heavily for three hours.
Although it still appeared that the sky would, at any time now, begin pouring again, yet Father set out in hope of reviving his almost dead trade. He was desperate.
Father had a family to feed and take care of. A son, Ean and a daughter, Ena. A merchant by profession, his trade began to decline ever since they were first bombed by their neighboring country. The first attack had evaporated a majority. Father, Ena, and Ean were luckily among the few hundred survivors who were made to evacuate. The siblings were mostly alone now because their aunt with whom they had lived, was now in hospital, receiving treatment for the injuries she had sustained in the attack. Aunt Jennie had happened to be out in the market, shopping for groceries, when they were bombed.
