The city was quiet. Gloom enveloped every inch of it and it seemed that even the weather today would not spare it.
A few hours earlier the residents had believed that there were two possibilities: either they would be destroyed by another attack or the weather would take the life out of them today.

Father, as he stepped out, prayed silently that he returns successful today. He could breathe in the fear that engulfed the city. He was not alone. Other men too proceeded with him, but all in a deadly silence.
Today, unlike other days, they did not even had to load the goods because that had been done two days ago when a heavy downpour had unexpectedly overtaken them and forced them to return to their homes. Pouring and pausing, pouring and pausing, pouring and pausing, in irregular intervals. Knowing this could be just another pause, these men risked moving out. The horses hung their heads low as if they knew they would gain no crown. It was perhaps an attempt in vain.
