Introduction

Hi there. :) I'm 23 years old and, funfact, have worked at Disneyworld! I am fascinated with the creative process and therefore adore film, literature, music, and art.  I would also sell all of my belongings to meet Harry Styles... so Harry, if you're reading this, hmu.

I decided to edit this story because it is truly my favorite fanficiton I've ever read.  And trust me, I've read many.

Editing

The editing process was extremely lengthy and it took me months to organize character details, plot-lines, questions I had, and magic "laws".  I re-watched scenes from OUAT to grab more details and did research on J.M. Barrie's original story.  I ended up deciding to read it. It's pretty good, you all should check it out!  I tried to incorporate some of that in my writing as well. I also designed the cover (see above) on my own.

But wow it was so much fun.  I loved adding scenes, embellishing the fight sequences, delving deeper into Amy's thought process, and exploring more of Neverland.  The plot-line is OUT OF THIS WORLD and ugh I can't get enough of it.  Jess is so talented.

Favorites

One of my favorite moments while embellishing Dreamer-Girl96's story was diving deeper into Amy's childhood: her time in Wonderland with Jefferson and also living with Belle and Sir Maurice.

My favorite chapter to rewrite was Chapter 15; where Amy fights Oliver and subsequently realizes that she is determined to not let darkness consume her heart.  Peter's reaction was delightful to write; how he comes to realize the pureness in her heart.  I see this as a serious milestone in their relationship.

Some of my favorite quotes/moments from TJON:

"The Island was dark and terrifying. As I ran, noises burped from the bushes, loud caws echoed from the tops of trees, howls of the night slithered through the air. Whether from animals, or the Lost Boys, I would never know; I didn't stick around to find out. I just kept running. I had to find the most buried little nook of a hiding spot on the island." (Chapter 4)

"The lagoon was other-worldly and I immediately felt drawn to it. The star's reflection ignited the water with a celestial surface. The sand was unusually black, glistening and dark. The shore was littered with patches of green grass that shot up through the darkness. White snowdrops hung against the rocks and trickled their way down into the water. My heart melted at the beauty and I couldn't recall ever feeling so at ease."  (Chapter 4)

"I didn't belong with the Lost Boys. I wasn't lost.  Then, a hauntingly beautiful melody filled my ears.  My head robotically turned to Peter, who was steadily blowing air into the groves of his pipe, creating a sound so familiar and so sweet that its taste sat on my tongue and glided down my throat, filling my veins with warmth. While he played, the steady gaze of his green eyes didn't leave mine. There was mischief there and his lips were fighting a smirk." (Chapter 5)

"As the log came down towards my face, time seemed to slow. I felt a heat burn in my heart. It was uncontrollable, as if fed by a force greater than myself. I felt the power rise up and consume me like a wildfire. Within seconds, a burst of chaotic purple magic erupted from inside me, sending Oliver flying back. He hit a tree with such force that he fell to the ground limp as a ragdoll." (Chapter 15)

"Remembering the darkness in Peter's heart, I shut my eyes again and ran my hands through the waves in my hair. Darkness could consume a soul. It had consumed my mother, it seemed to have consumed Gold, and I feared it would soon consume Peter.  I wouldn't let it consume my heart. I refused." (Chapter 15)

''You are different, Amy.' He let go of her arm. Despite being covered in bruises, Peter couldn't help but admire her beauty under the Neverland moon. Her pale skin shown a beautiful white. 'You and I are so very different.'      'In some ways,' She smiled. (Chapter 15)
