It is safe to say Mabel wasn't ready.
She was hugging a crying Mauve, and it was painful to watch. Mauve had snot running all down her lips, and onto Mabel's pink star sweater. Honestly, Mabel didn't care. After a lot, I mean a lot, of talking, Mauve calmed down. "He won't be back, for, for a month." She said. Mabel rubbed Mauve's back, and pulled away. "It's gonna be okay, okay?" She looked around, spotting an awkward Dipper who was sitting on a couch. "Hey, wh-where's will?"
"He's in his room." Mauve sniffed. Mabel tilted her head. "He probably doesn't want me around him right now."
"Can I go see him?" Mabel asked.
"Yeah, I guess. I think he'll be okay with that."
Mabel sped walked to Will's room. The door was partially open. Mabel knocked slightly. "Will?" She whispered. She waited a few seconds, then she pushed the door open. "Will? W-" She stared at the blue-haired mess sitting on the bed. "Will??" She ran over to the bed and wrapped her arms around him. Will choked out a sob.
"He's gone! Gone, Mabel, he won't be back for a month, or even more! Mabel who will I have to protect me? Bill always did, he watched out for me. He lied to kids so I would become more popular. He is the reason I even feel like going to school." Without thinking, Mabel kissed the top of his head.
"Shh, it's okay. We have some classes together, right? I will stay with you all day. Do you want to stay out of school for a while? I can forge some doctors notes for us."
Will could feel Mabels smirk, he giggled a little. "Yeah, yeah okay."
Mabel hugged him tighter. "Everything will be alright."
And they stayed like that, until Mabel and Will fell over, consumed in sleep.
