40 years later

Jinhee's POV

It had been such a long time. Flipping through the little book in my hands, I looked at the pictures of my youth. A photo of me and the girls during our final performance as a group. Saddened, I ran my hands over the photo. Everything was going well until that day . . .

Flashback

 "Where do you wanna go?"

I tapped my chin thinking.

"I wanna try some Italian stuff."

 "Oh yes! That sounds good!"

Claire clapped her hands in excitement as we hopped into our van. We were all laughing in the car until it happened. Out of no where, a black car swerved to the right and came speeding right at us. I barely had time to react until the car crashed head on into ours in a blur of light. I couldn't do anything. All I could so was watch their lives pass before me, then I was out.

End of flashback

I shook my head, as if that could erase the sad memories. Although I survived, Claire and Sonia were less fortunate. They had died in the ambulance. I will never forget the feeling as the news hit me like a bullet. Without realising it, a tear fell down my cheek.

"Yah, Jinnie. Why are you crying?"

Jimin asked as he came into the room, sitting down beside me. His mouth formed an "o" when he saw the photo album in my lap. Taking me in a tight embrace he calmed me down.

 "It's okay, it's okay."

He stroked my hair as I eventually pulled away.

"You know crying is no good for your condition."

Right. About a year ago, I was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer. They weren't sure how much longer I was gonna live, but I knew it wasn't gonna be long. Jimin's hands reached for the album and flipped the page. It was a group picture we had taken at Jimin and I's wedding. The youthful Jungkook, Remi, Claire, Micha, Yoongi, Lisa and Sonia were smiling brightly as Jimin's mouth was frozen in a laugh as he carried me in his arms. I smiled gently thinking of how happy I was when Jungkook proposed to Remi during the after party. Once the ring was on their fingers, they were gone like the wind. Remi insisted that they go to America for their honeymoon but they didn't come back because she fell in love with the place. I get to see them sometimes but not often. After all, it was 2058 and there's something called face time. Looking at the picture beside it, I smiled. Taehyung had been let out of prison and he didn't hesitate to marry Lisa on the spot. I giggled when I remembered how red Lisa's face had gone when Taehyung picked her up in the middle of the cafe screaming, "SHE'S GONNA MARRY ME!" As Jimin flipped the page, he received a call.

 "Hello?"

Based on the speed the person on the other side was talking, I confirmed that it was our son Jae. Jimin's face lit up.

"Oh my gosh, that's awesome! Alright . . . yes of course. Love you!"

My heard melted when I heard those words. Love you

 "Guess what!?"

He said happily.

 "Yeah?"

"JAE AND YURI ARE HAVING A BABY!"

I gasped.

 "OH MY GOSH!"

He hugged me tightly.

 "I'm gonna have grandkids!"

I exclaimed happily. I kissed him happily then sat on the bed again.

 "When is she due?"

I asked.

"He said in around 7 months or so."

I sighed in content and thought about a bunch of little kids running around in our living room while Yuri and Jae watched over them. My happy thoughts were interrupted when I felt pain in my chest. I winced as my breaths came in faster.

 "Jinnie?"

I didn't reply while I clutched my chest trying to breathe properly. Jimin was in full out panic mode now.

 "Jinnie?! What's wrong?"

This was it. I knew it was coming soon. No please, not now. Jimin pulled out his phone to call 911 but I stopped him.

"No . . . they can't do anything about it anyways."

Jimin's beautiful eyes slanted downwards when he heard me say it.

"No please . . . don't leave me now. Y-you have to see our grandkids!"

He squeezed me in his hold crying.

 "Jinnie please . . ."

He lowered my head into his lap and stroked my hair as I shared my last few minutes with him. I knew I was slipping away. I forced a smile on my face.

"I loved you since the very start Chimchim . . . now, I can fulfill my promise of loving you till the very end."

Jimin's tears wouldn't stop flowing as he hugged me close.

 "I love you Park Jinhee."

 "I love you too . . . Park Jimin."

As I repeat the same words from 40 years ago, his lips were on mine. I kissed him with everything I had until my body gave up, and I let go.

~~Death is inevitable as there is no such thing as happily ever after. Everything with life must come to an end one day, but before that day comes, let's live to be happy, not rich, to love, not lust and to have a home, where one's heart will always be.~~
