as she walked towards the table, she looked at the two ladies sitting next to me
L: dont worry about them, they're both half death and only speak asia
DM: okay
she takes the seat across from me and we begin the game
L: my mother taught me to play
DM: mine did too
i take a deep breath
L: you told me im not good enough for your son
DM: and you will never be good enough
L: well, i hope you no he proposed to me yesterday
she looks at me sharp
L: dont worry, i turned him down, he told me he would leave his family and re-start a life with me, i turned him down because i worried at the fact of him losing his mother and you lose your son, just because i cared about your family, so when you see him with a girl that is , tall, smart, beautiful, and meets what you please, and your playing with your grandchildren, just know it was because of me

i say as i lay the cards down, winning the game, leaving the table to walk towards my mom

as i board the plane back to houston, i hear my name being called, i stop and turn around just to see david
