"I honest to god did not expect you to do this in one night."
••••••••••••••••••••

A knock on Jackson's window startled him awake from a short nap, his baby sister who was napping with him now wailing loudly. He sighed, getting up slowly and cradling her in his arms as he made his way to the window. The boy stopped in his tracks at the sight of an injured Peter Parker covered in bruises and small wounds, signaling him to set Reese down in her crib.

He put down his baby sister in her stuffed animal infested crib, which he dragged into his bedroom. Jackson opened the window and helped the injured adolescent into his room, "Peter, what happened?" The time was now 8pm, only hours after Peter abandoned the three at lunch. However, Peter Parker had taken it to himself to remove his Spider-Man suit beforehand. This was gonna be an interesting night.

Peter grunted in pain, his hand hovering over stomach, "G-girl," he stuttered, "b-blonde, p-p-p-" he spat out, "powered p-person's p-program."

Jackson raised his eyebrow at his underclassmen, quickly grabbing a first aid kit near him. As Jackson began to clean Peter's wounds, he noticed a strange thing about them. They all were cold to the touch. It was almost as if he was on the brink of frostbite. Jackson gasped, "What did she do?" He looked into Peter's eyes.

Peter gulped, then began breathing heavily once more, "She came to the t-tower before l-lunch, and Tony p-picked me up to help. S-she's about our age, and s-she came to the tower looking for h-help to control her new p-powers," Peter winced as Jackson began to apply pressure to his wounds, "B-but she lost c-control and flew off into the city."

Jackson spoke up, "Let me guess, you went after her and she lost control of her ice powers?"

Peter looked shocked, "How'd you know s-she has i-ice powers?"

"You're basically frostbitten," Jackson frowned, "Do you know where she is now?" Peter shook his head, causing Jackson to frown even more. Suddenly, Reese began to cry again, startling Peter.

"You have a b-baby?" Jackson didn't really listen to Peter as he reluctantly left his side to care for his baby sister.

He cared for Reese more than himself. He could care less about if he were to live or die, as long as little Reese had a happy life. Genesis won't ever give up on telling him about that fatal flaw; attempting to get him to loosen up a little. Jackson was told all the time to relax, let himself go and have a good time for once. However, that was the catch. He would never be able to have a good time without reassurance of Reese's happiness.

He couldn't bare the thought of being happy while his little sister was miserable, it mentally scarred him. All that would make him was his mother- who he so desperately wanted to be different than. At the sight of Reese's smile after a few seconds of being bounced up and down, Jackson let all his stress fall. This. This is what made him happy.

The choir boy looked back to Peter, who's head was cocked to the side like a confused puppy, "Tomorrow we'll go to the tower to check up on how it's going with her, okay?" Peter nodded slowly, as if finally registering some information. Jackson turned to the infant in his arms, bouncing her up and down again and smiling, "Let's go feed the little peanut butter cup." A giggle emitted from the baby, a smile across her chubby cheeks nearly knocking him out. He fell apart.

Quick, imagine the following scene: you see the teenager you are currently letting live with you with another adolescent and an infant baby. The teen you know is wearing clothes you've never seen before and the other teen is holding the infant baby like a parent would. At this moment, you may now know just what was going through Tony Stark's head when Peter came back to the tower.

The scene in his head nearly frightened Tony. He was barely ready to be a father, much less a grandfather, "Peter," the genetically enhanced adolescent faced his new parental figure, "I honest to god did not expect you to do this in one night." Peter quirked his eyebrows in confusion, he seemed to be doing that recently, "Son, I'm not ready to be a grandfather-"

Peter cut off his mentor, "Oh my god!" Jackson was blushing brightly, Reese giggling in his arms, "We wouldn't-" he stumbled on his words, "We couldn't-"

Jackson coughed, trying to get rid of his tomato colored face, "This is my little sister, Mr. Stark."

The billionaire decided to play off his comment, ignoring that it ever happened, "As you may know, the powered person's program has its own floor of offices in Avengers tower, correct?" Jackson nodded, Peter hiding his embarrassment under Jackson's flannel he was wearing.

They were currently in the penthouse living room, a photo of a blonde girl with pale skin and blue eyes appearing on the plasma tv screen before them, "Miss Aria Russel here arrived at 11:37 AM yesterday morning..." Tony droned on and on about the girl, verbally giving all the information to the teens before him. He concluded, "She will have to stay here at the tower until we can whip up a solution in the labs."

Peter thought carefully, realizing the perfect solution his mentor most likely thought up already, replying afterward, "Like an inhibitor collar, right?"

Tony hummed, "In a way. It can't be too noticeable, being we have to get her back into a public setting soon." At that, Jackson could feel a lightbulb floating over his head.

That's it! A set of bracelets with the abilities of an inhibitor collar would be perfect. Not only are they less noticeable, but they are closer to the main place her powers come from. If they have the same abilities of an inhibitor collar, they should be able to stop her from flying as well.

Jackson was pretty proud of this idea, so naturally he felt he should share it, "What about two bracelets?" Peter and Tony turned their attention toward him, "One for each of her wrists." Now that the attention was on him, he almost felt nervous. That feeling went away, however, when Tony Stark smirked.

"That's a perfect idea," Tony began, "Peter, meet me in the lab in five minutes." Peter nodded, "Jackson, you can go home if you want, or you could stay here. Whatever you prefer." Jackson nodded, deciding to stay with the two and give some input on the designs. He smiled, following Peter into the kitchen with Reese still in his arms. The last thing he thought that day as he drove home was how he should start stocking the fridge there with baby formula.

I hope this chapter was okay, leave a comment and let me know what you think so far, I'm genuinely curious about y'all's thoughts.
