Chapter 25

Khannas gathered in the living hall for a small chat after their family dinner.

Bebe : Sunny, do you remember our relative Charan ?

Prakash : Yes bebe. Dr. Charan Kumar in New York ?

Bebe : Yup the same. He called me today to ask about Aman.

Swetha : Why Aman ? What did he do ?

Bebe : Hey Madam Madonna. He ain't complaining about Aman. He actually want to proceed with an alliance for his wife's niece with Aman. She is an architect. Name is Muskaan.

Swetha : Awww that's nice. How does she look like ? Will she be a match for our Aman ?

Bebe : I have never seen her. So how can I tell about her looks ? He just ringed me to ask about Aman. I told Aman is a great boy, anyone will compete to take him as a groom.

Prakash : You are right Bebe. It's hard to find a guy like Aman these days. Handsome, humble, simple, brilliant and very dedicated towards work.

Swetha smiled with pride by hearing the compliments showered by her mother in law and husband towards her nephew.

Arnav : I got an important work. You all please continue. See you all tomorrow.

Everyone nodded to him and he retreated to his room.

Bebe (sighing) : Chote always escapes hearing the word "alliance". So swetha, talk to your sis. If they are interested in this proposal, I can ask Charan about her parents and a photo of her. They already saw Aman from some party and they all liked him.

Swetha (smiling) : Ok Bebe.

Bebe : Don't you all think Chote also need to get married now ? Aman is of Chote's age.

Swetha : I dont think Arnu will agree easily. He behaves as if he is allergic towards girls.

Neil : You are absolutely right mom. I was about to tell that. Why Bhai hates girls ?

Swetha: Only God knows. Every boys will love to date or flirt or to have female followers. But my son. (Takes a deep breathe). He is not at all interested in those. Work, work and only work. The boys have to mingle with girls, hang out and should make some bond with them, else what is fun in life.

Neil : Wow mom. What a dialogue. I loved it.

Bebe (with sarcasm) : See Sunny. What a great mom is your wife. What an advise is she giving to her son ?

Prakash : Haha bebe, I dont think even this advise of Swetha is really needed for this son of mine. He has a long list of female friends. And I am sure Neil will definitely choose love marriage over arranged one. Am I right Neil ?

Neil : Dadddd....

Prakash, Swetha and Bebe laughs at him.

Neil : See who is telling this Bebe. Dad, you are making fun of me as if you had made an arranged marriage with mom. Now dont be shy you two (looking at his parents)

Bebe : Haha. You spoke my words tillu. These two were madly in love during their college time. Sunny was like, I wont marry anyone other than Swetha. What to do ? I had to agree to his stubbornness.

Neil and bebe laughs while Prakash and Swetha looks here and there.

Bebe : Now why are you getting shy Sunny ? Don't you remember what all childishness you both did during that time?

Neil (with curious) : What bebe ?

Bebe : Ask your parents. I am feeling sleepy. Swetha, dont forget to talk to your sis about muskaan.

Swetha : No bebe. I will talk to Smitha tomorrow morning itself.

Bebe : Ok then good night all of you. I am going to my room.

Neil : Mom.. Dad.. tell me about your lovely shovey days na.

Swetha : Tilluuu.. Bebe was just making fun of us. You took it seriously ?

Neil : No mom. I am sure, bebe was not lying. Tell me please.

Prakash : It was nothing son. During those days, swetha used to irritate me talking about random guys. And obviously i dont like her talking about another guys. So i used to skip food from home thinking about those. That's why bebe told childishness. She is right, even I feel like laughing thinking about that now.

Swetha : Prakash, what all are you saying ?

Prakash : What Swetha ? We have to be friends with our kids more than behaving like strict parents, then only our bond with kids will get stronger. They have all right to know about everything about us.

Neil : You are great dad. I love you.

Prakash : Even I love you a lot my son.

Neil : So mom, why were you irritating dad by talking about guys ?

Swetha : That's the way to check the depth of our love tillu.

Neil : To check the depth of love ? How ?

Swetha : If we love someone, we wont feel good if we see them with another person or if our lover praises about another one. And your dad passed in my test. He was restless when I talked about other guys, because he loved me so much. And do you know what your dad did to test my love for him?

Neil : What ?

Swetha : I only talked about the guys but he.

Swetha looked Prakash with a deadly look and prakash bended his head down.

Neil : What did he do ?

Swetha : He started flirting with my enemy who never miss a chance to insult me.

Neil : Haha. Dad. Good move.

Neil and Prakash hified.

Prakash : You wont believe Neil, how frustrated your mom was then. I avoided Swetha the whole day and flirted with her enemy laya. Swetha thought I ditched her and started loving laya. So she started crying at the end of the day and I had to tell her that me too was just checking the love she has for me.

Neil hears everything with utmost curious and looked his parents lovingly knowing the intensity of love they have for each other.

Swetha : Its then we decided to get married because we knew that we can't live without each other.

Neil : Awesome.

Swetha : Enough of talks for now. You both go and sleep. You got class tomorrow, right tillu. And prakash, dont you want to go to office tomorrow ? Go to bed NOW.

Prakash and Neil : Ok Madam. As you say.

They all laugh together and went to their rooms.

Neil : Wow. You look so beautiful today.

Mithali : Thank you Neil. Can I sit here ?

Neil : Why not ?

Avni was fuming with anger seeing all these along with Rhea & Ali while Neil stole a glance at avni and mentally smiled seeing her jealousy.
