“How? We can’t just turn into weapons!” Level shouted. Angel and I gasped as we turned towards Level. “I mean… u-uh.” He slowly moved behind me with a blush on his face.
“Oh, I promise kids! It’s real simple!” Lord Death said bouncing slightly. “Just think like a weapon!”
“How can that help them?” I asked crossing my arms.
“Wait,” Angel chimed in. “I read one of the… uh, weapon’s minds.” She turned to Level and gave him an encouraging smile. “Just imagine your body turning into some type of weapon rather than a dragon!”
“Okay…” He said clenching and unclenching his fists while shifting on his feet. He screwed his eyes shut. “Weapon… Weapon…” He continuously whispered to himself. Angel closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
“It’s important to remember your soul wavelengths need to match otherwise wielding your weapons will be difficult.” Kid added.
“Your soul-whata?” I asked turning to him just as Level and Angel figured out how to turn into a weapon. They glowed pink and floated into my grasp where they took the shape of swords along with two sheaths. Angel, who was now a sword felt… incredibly light. Level felt slightly heavier than Angel. The swords matched each other perfectly, well, their looks. Not so much their weight. It was rigid on one side and curved at the edges and the top was shaped like the tip of a spear. “Well… that happened.” I clicked my tongue.
“Twin Swords! Good!” Lord Death praised.
“Twin Swords, huh?” I twirled them in my hands. “How am I already able to… hold this so easily?” I awed.
“Normally, meisters have one weapon partner, only few people can handle two weapon partners at once.” Lord Death smiled.
“Really?” I asked taking that as a compliment. I turned to Kid. “Just like you-”
This is going to sound crazy, but I swear, he had hearts in his eyes. “S-So symmetrical!” He blushed. He ran up to me and shook me back and forth by my shoulders.
“I-It’s official, y-you’re a-a total w-whackjob!” I stammered my voice shaking from being well... shook. “Okay, Okay, I get it… I’m symmetrical.” I said trying to move away from him. He let me go but still stared at me weirdly. “So…” I started twirling the swords around at my side. “How do you change-“ I staggered back in shock when they glowed pink and accidentally let them go. They twirled in the air and rather than a sword shape, it turned to take the shape of two humans. Angel and Level landed on the ground just as the light faded off of them.
“That was so cool!” Angel sang. Level smiled and nodded in agreement.
"Now that you’ve registered and you have your weapon forms down, why don't you get to class! Here are your schedules!" Lord Death told us handing us some papers. "Oh, and Max, Angel and Level can take the same classes as you. I know how you feel about being separated." He told me sympathetically.
"Alrighty," I turned around to face Kid who was no longer giving me that weird I-think-I'm-in-love look (Thank God). "Our next class is with... Prof. Stein? Can ya show us the way?" I asked. He took the schedule from me.
"It seems we have a few classes together." He said already walking towards the guillotine hallway. We walked in silence for most of the time until we were far from the guillotines and were just walking in a boring normal-school hall. It must have been the fact that Angel, Level, and I were scared out of our wits from the large, pointy things hovering above our heads willing to chop us up into bits any second. Angel skipped ahead to walk next to Kid.
