Chapter Two• Kavinsky ...right?

         Lara and Jamie had done their other two classes and finished school for the day. Lara was walking out to her car as she saw Peter down the hall from her changing into his Lacrosse gear. She thought in her head "is it okay to like someone this much even when they don't even talk to you?" She had placed her books in her locker and headed out the door. Peter was outside the men's bathroom with a few of his friends. Lara tried to act as if she didn't have the biggest crush on him and walked by him. She could feel his eyes glance  at her as she'd pass. As soon as she went to her car she looked in the rear view mirror with a smile on her face. Maybe this year will be different. Then she thought about her dad again and the smile came off. She'd drive home with him on her mind.
               That evening at the dinner table L.J , Kitty and their dad had talked about how their days had gone. Lara told them that she had decent first semester classes with a few friends, and Kitty got the best grade 6 teacher in their school. Around quarter to ten Lara got ready for bed, picking out another new outfit. The next few weeks went by as Lara kept things the same with Peter, knowing that it was the beginning of the school year, and kept doing great in her school work.
            A cool October evening came around and she thought of ways to start talking to him. She practiced going up to the long mirror on the back of her door saying: "Heyyy Peter... Kavinsky? Kavinsky is it?" "Oh yea I saw you in my chemistry class, you like science eh?" After a while she'd looked at herself standing there and realized she might never be able to talk to him. She pulled out her phone and searched his name on Instagram. PETER KAVINSKY , she typed in as his profile came up. He had 2000 followers and such a cute profile picture. Lara thought that maybe this would be a way to get him to notice her. She clicked request and went to bed.
           The next morning she woke up and saw he'd let her follow him, and requested to follow her back. She'd got up and got ready for school knowing today would be a great day. She dropped Kitty off at elementary school and met Jamie at her school. "What class you have first? And any news on Peter KaDaddy?!!" Jamie said.  Lara Jean looked at Jamie with a smirk on her face and said " Well I have boring history and ... he accepted my follow request and followed me back, that's all I got though."  Jamie looked at her with excitement and said "heyy!! Thats a start yanno." Lara shrugged her shoulders as she smiled and walked off to history, and Jamie going to Gym.
        After first period bell rang, Lara met up with Jamie for a few minutes to go to her next and favourite class of the day , Chemistry. "Hey, go talk to him today Lara, it's been almost 2 months in school. You got this." Jamie said . They both went to their separate classes. Lara met up with Shane as they both walked through the Chem doors. "Hey Shane, ready for chem?" Lara asked. Shane replied with "No Lara , are you crazy?! I'm only here because I need my science credit. To bad there wasn't anything exciting in this class for fuck sake." Lara looked at Shane and said "well there is ... for me at-least." She paused "You see Peter Kavinsky over there, well he is kinda my new secret crush." They both slyly looked over at Peter as he laughed with his friends. "Wow he is a pretty good looking guy!" Shane said surprised. Mr.Smith walked through the class doors with a huge booklet of papers in his hands. "Well good afternoon class. We will be doing partner experiments today. I will be picking the groups. We will be using sodium acetate to make liquid ice!" Everyone in the class wowed. Mr.Smith read off the list of partners and all Lara could think was "I hope I don't get paired with some douche bag, like Logan Hemsworth over there." He had worn the same clothes since the beginning of school and everyone called him 'Cheese' because he smelt so bad. The teacher had called her name with no one else but Peter.K. Lara's eyes widened very fast and she took a heavy gulp before anyone noticed. She looked over at Peter as he looked at her and they smiled a little bit at each other. She tried to make it seem like she wasn't into him as much as possible, and both walked up to grab the booklet and headed to a separate room where they were all by themselves with the experiment materials , not saying a word.
             Lara Jean looked at Peter and said "Hey... Peter... Kavinsky right?" as he replied with "Yes Peter, and you're Lara Jean Covey." Lara thought in her mind for a split second, how come he knows my full name, I thought popular guys like him didn't no that stuff. She smiled at him and said "Yes that's me haha. So we should get started and work on this project before Mr.Smith comes." He nodded as she read the instructions on what to do. They started pouring all the materials into a container as she asked Peter to pass her the stirring stick. She grabbed it and started to mix the ingredients together, as he placed his hand just above hers and helped. Lara got a shock at looked up at him. "Hey , I'm just trying to help." He smiled and smirked at her with delight. They had finished the liquid ice experiment and showed their work to the teacher. He had told them to clean up their mess and return to class as there was 15 minutes left before lunch. They began to clean up as Peter unexpectedly said " Hey, I just wanted to tell you , your really pretty." Lara paused thinking, he just called me pretty. IS THIS A DREAM COME TRUE. Lara didn't care one bit about her dads rules and came close to him and said "Well you're pretty irresistible yourself".
