Hunk was as sure of his successor as Pidge was. In fact he'd had a space dream about a hotshot young pilot taking his place. He felt confident that was Ina Leifsdottir, and definitely was not James Griffin. It made perfect sense to Hunk. Lance and James were with little doubt cocky, boastful, and courageous. He spoke to Ina.
"You build things, don't you? In your free time."
"Yes I..."
"And even though you don't show it, you're always the most scared." Ina shuffled her feet slightly rocking side to side. "It's okay" Hunk told her. "I'm always the most scared. Yellow's extra armor will give you extra confidence, and maybe help you loosen up in the cockpit." Ina smiled. Most people thought she was a freak with no emotion. What they didn't know was if she ever let her guard down and didn't focus on the numbers and stats that she'd lose it. Even with as simple a task as walking down a commanding officer's hallway. Yellow laid his head down and Hunk touched his face and reached for Leifsdottir's hand. Yellow's eyes lit. Ina likened the warm glow to a cracking fire place. Somewhere safe and warm.
