Behind the Mask

Smiling through sadness;
Concealing all her mess.
Are you one of them?
Who's crashing beneath her colorful hem? If that so, then this poem is all for you.

Smile here! Smile there!
You're not alright
But you said you were
Time flies but still here you are
Pretending to enjoy the colors
Though you can see none
Aside from the darkness
That masking your eyes
From seeing beyond your mess
Until what's left is all your lies
Now everything was gone
Leaving you lost on the facade of fun
But I know
Behind all the charades you put on
Is a kid, still hoping that someday
She can truly be happy without the mask of yesterday.
