After days of being held my trial had come up. My lawyer and I were working together but with the charges I'm expected to be charged with it might be better to do time than to fight it.

As the jury shuffled in I took my seat next to my lawyer. The trial went on, but most of the time my lawyer spoke for me. By this time I had felt numb, and everything around me seemed to turn to shit.

Soon enough I was called to the stand.

"Miss Alaska do you understand that you may tell the truth, the whole truth, and the only truth as you are under oath?" The judge asked.

I looked around the room and was met with a familiar pair of blue eyes. Daniel and the boys. He smiled.

"Yes sir."

"You may sit." the judge cleared his throat. "Please tell me everything you remember happening down to the foods you ate after residing in California."

I took a deep breath and started with everything. From Daniel to our nights spent together, to getting pregnant, to going to Portland, then to running away to San Diego. This entire story was my trial, and everything in it was now shared with this entire court room. The amount of details I shared to everyone, including my parents who were sitting right there, was immense. I cried a bit knowing that telling everything would potentially ruin my chances of having any out to the situation. Then came to the car accident, sharing my horrible accident and the night prior was terrible. And I even saw Daniel in the back of the room crying into Jonah's shoulder.

Not once did I mention his name in order to protect him and his image to the world. And I know now that now our relationship and our time together would be wiped away from the internet, and from all of our minds. It would soon become a distant memory. A nice one, a comforting distant memory that I believe I would cherish together.

"Now Alaska would you please explain to the court room the event of you stealing ten thousand dollars from your parents."

"To be clear, it wasn't money. It was ten thousand dollars in assets. I took one of the family's smaller boats and sold it for cash in order to help support my move hear to California."

The entire court room gasped, even my lawyer. After that my parents lawyer was required to ask me questions.

"And who was this boy you were spending your time with?" She asked.

"I prefer to keep his identity a secret in order to secure his career and future." I said

"Understood, did he know of what you had done back on Long Island?"

I took a deep breath, "No he did not. I had told him about my family situation and why I had moved to California but never to how I made it happen. I had only mentioned I worked and saved my money to buy my apartment in downtown Los Angeles."

"And if you had one last thing to say to him what would you say?"

I looked at Daniel and leaned into the microphone, "After keeping my past a secret I still don't know how to explain this to you." I said then I leaned back in my chair.

"And why did you move to California?" She asked

"Well because my family life was never too great, my father was angry and I didn't want to be in a harmful environment."

"If you why didn't you inform the local authorities of your father actions?"

I laughed, "Because I know what he would do to me if I did. I'd be in deeper shit than I am now."

The judge knocked on the desk with his gavel. "No more questioning for now." He said. "You may return to your lawyer Alaska."

I nodded my head and walked out from behind the stand. I sat down next to my lawyer the judge entered a room behind the stand and shut the door. Chatter rose in the room making me even more anxious. I looked over at my parents, who were arguing over something I couldn't make out. I returned my gaze to the front of the room. Where I attempted to drown out as much as the noice as I could.

Some time had passed before the judge returned to the court room. "Order please." His voice echoed.

I instantly sat up and clasped my hands together.

"Alaska will be charged with a class b felony and vehicular manslaughter. She will be sentence to five years in jail or a 50,000 dollar bail out fine." His sentence was cold.

Once he finished two police officers came out and started to cuff me. I looked back for a moment and met Daniel's gaze. His eyes were glassy and dark, but they spoke a thousand words. I didn't have to be told that he loved me in that moment because the way he looked at me was like no other. I smiled at him for a second before being pulled out of the court room.

And that was it. That was the last time I was expecting to see Daniel Seavey.

This may possibly be the end, and frankly I'd be okay with it. I never really cared for anyone like I cared for Daniel, and I had never been as happy as I was with him. He was the light at the end of my tunnel and nothing he did disappointed me. He is the reason I'm happy, he's the reason I'm happy with myself and with how things are going to end up. Daniel will always be my true love. And after everything we had been through together these past few months, I don't regret anything. The experiences I had while I shared time with him were irreplaceable. And hopefully one day I'll live to tell the love story between Daniel and I. There were many details I didn't share with the court today due to personal reasons. They were too soft to touch and I thought if I mentioned some of these subjects I would lose it. Daniel was so different and wasn't like anyone I had met before. I never saw him upset or angry, and I think that's why I loved him. He was a guardian angel. Daniel was the bright side to my dark life. I never thought I would fall in love, and I hadn't before Daniel. But let me tell you, love isn't what everyone makes it out to be.
