It was early, the only thing that woke me up was a phone call from my sister. I let it ring, but I eventually got up. The apartment was empty, the walls were white, and the floors were dark leaving a strong contrast throughout the rooms.

I haven't texted Daniel. But the coffee insulator was on my dresser. Haunting me. I picked it up and held it in my hands for a moment. He was cute and sweet. I sighed and typed the number into my phone.

Hello, Daniel, It's coffee girl

I quickly sent it and unpacked my suitcase. Nonetheless, my apartment quickly got messy. Most of what covered my bedroom floor were my clothes. Furniture was provided by the apartment building for an extra fee. I didn't really have anything else. So all my morning really consisted of was organizing my closet. I checked my phone,

1 iMessage from Daniel. My heart skipped a beat and I smiled.

Alaska!! Thought I scared you off, what are you up to?

Oh nothing really, I've just been unpacking. How about a lunch date today?

I took a second to realize what I just did. Then my phone buzzed in my hand and the light lit up my face.

I would love to, do you want to meet at my house at around 1 then we'll go downtown?

Sounds like a plan Daniel, send me your address

He sent his address and I started to get ready. It was only 11:30, but I figured it would take me about a half an hour to get to his house on a Saturday afternoon. I hopped in the shower and washed my hair. I got out, blow dried it and put on Mascara and filled in my eyebrows. I walked into my closet. I picked out a pair of Army green pants and a white cropped T-shirt with a criss-cross in the V-neck. I grabbed my black coach backpack and my keys off my kitchen counter. It was almost 12:30 by the time I walked out of my apartment. I went into the parking garage and unlocked my yellow Jeep Rubicon. I put my key in the ignition and put on some music through my phone. I put on Don't By Ed Sheeran and threw my car into reverse. As I was pulling out of the parking garage I put Daniel's address in my phone.

I was driving through a fairly rich neighborhood. It was warm outside, most likely high 70s but it was nice. My sunglasses protected my eyes from the sun. But this neighborhood overlooked Los Angeles. Almost like the movies. I turned onto his street and decreased my speed so I could look for his house number. 407. The road was wide and freshly paved. I turned into his house and shit, it was huge. It has a perfect view of Los Angeles. I parked my car and sat in aw. The house had floor to ceiling windows. It was like out of a movie. I got out of my car with my jaw dropped I grabbed my backpack from the backseat. I took off my sunglasses and looked around. The driveway had four cars besides mine parked. Which included a pickup truck, a Chevy Tahoe, a Volvo and my personal favorite a faded electric blue second generation Ford Mustang. I let my fingers drag on the hood of the car as I walked back.

"Coffee girl!" Daniel yelled. It startled me a bit but I turned around. He was standing on a deck. He wore ripped jeans and a white T-shirt.

"You live here?!" I asked covering my eyes from the sun.

"Yeah! Come inside I'll meet you at the front door." Then he disappeared from the deck into the house. I walked up the staircase to the front deck and Daniel opened the door.

"How do you even afford this," I asked as he motioned me to walk inside. He held the door open for me. The inside of the house was just as beautiful as the outside. I walked in and he closed the door behind me.

"Well, I live with these guys." He said gently smiling, he took my hand and led me into the living space. Four boys sat in the living space. "This is Jack, Zach, Corbyn, and Jonah. And guys this is Alaska"

"Nice to meet you!" Corbyn said with a warm smile. The boys seemed real, and fun to be around.   As Corbyn was saying that Jack and Zach were jokingly fighting over something. I let out a laugh and looked at Daniel who was still holding my hand.

"Yeah it's nice to meet you too, how the hell do you guys afford to live here?" I asked.

"We robbed a bank, then murdered the person who lived here," Jack said with a straight face.

"Perfect, let's be friends." Daniel then smiled at me.

"So shall we get going? I can drive." He asked.

"Yeah, let's go." He dropped my hand and walked into the kitchen.

"Daniel told us you're new to town. Where'd you move from?" Jonah asked. Daniel walked back to my side.

"I moved from New York, but we can talk later. It was so nice meeting you guys." I said as Daniel and I started to walk towards the front door. The boys all said bye and Daniel closed the door behind us.

"Ever been in a Mustang?" He asked dangling the keys from his fingers. I laughed

"You're something different, I couldn't imagine a boy like you living in Los Angeles knowing how to drive manual." We both stopped in front of the hood of his car.

"You'd be surprised." He said walking to open the passenger door. I got into the car and he shut it. I put on my seatbelt. And Daniel got into the car, started it up and pulled out of the driveway. "You know," He starts "You give me such good vibes. And I literally only know your first name but you seem so cool." I looked over at him, he was blushing a little bit. I turned on the radio.

"You seem like the type of person who couldn't do anything to hurt someone else. You seem shy and collective. But you're an open book. I'd really like to get to know you." His blue eyes met mine, but he looked back at the road. I plugged my phone into the AUX chord and started playing a song called "Across The Room" by Odesza. Daniel and I jammed out as he drove. His smile lit up the entire world.
