"P-please..." She gasps.
"Baby. What's wrong?" I try and calm her down by sitting on the ground so I'm level with her.
"M-mason." She whispers as her breath gets heavier and heavier.
I finally understand what's going on. She hasn't had an asthma attack in years. She collapses in my lap and I stroke her head and pull her tight into my arms.
"Breathe. You're okay..." I start to panick. She doesn't have her inhaler. How the hell am I supposed to do this?
"Take a deep breath and swallow it baby. You're gonna be okay." I rub her stomach. "You're fine." She does what I say and it silences her breath but only for a few seconds.
"Again, again." I start to not panick as much. It's actually working. She does it a few more times and she starts to calm down.
"Alright baby. We gotta go!" I hear footsteps and try not make her panick again.
"PETER!" Cubby calls.
"I-I can't." She holds her stomach. I lift her up and start to run. I get up in the air and let her go but grab her hand so she doesn't fall.
"Are you alright?" I ask as we fly back towards her house that we were just at.
"We need to get him." She shutters and takes a deep breath.
"We're going to I promise." That's my 2nd lie today. I can't promise anything right now.
